You don't understand schemes either, on the defensive end, when it's a successful defensive team out there. Now Bosh has to contend with 2 future HOF guard-like players on his team who will go all the way to the basket defending their man...whereas Calderon was another Steve Nash, when it came to defending a perimeter player who takes the ball to the basketball.

It's still PHYSICS, pal, when you add up how it's now more players on Bosh's team contending for a rebound under the basket...than he's ever had to contend with.

It's like I said, he's making the biggest adjustment, than anyone else on this team...and if Lebron and Wade were smart enough to say give them 'til Jan-Feb before you see it all coming together, then...

maybe we can respect athletes enough, too, to remember that they are still human and so just like us...they need time to adapt to massive changes and efforts to redefine or re-invent their employee goals versus those that had previously got them to the point of being one of the best in the world, at their job

These 2 posts together present the answer to the question....

Hey 2012, Lebron and Wades rebounding numbers are down this year so how are they taking up Bosh's boards? Haslem is coming off the bench and averaging 3 more rebounds than Bosh. smh

Because nba teams still only take an avg. number of shots, per game, and that didn't change because Bosh Wade & Lebron got on the same team. So all three (3) of their numbers, will suffer, versus how things were when each was superstar in his own Kingdom/city.

You bring up a great validating point, in Udonis, who understands he's merely a role player BY DEFINITION therefore not so hard for him to focus only on the 1 aspect of his role, by which he's even allowed on the team.

Again, you have to realize that no man on this entire team, is being asked to sacrifice their usual game their usual approach their usual output, than Bosh. So expecting him to basically wipe 8 years out of his memory banks, in a mere 12-13 games, is a daunting task.

Plus there's something even bigger than all of this...

~Rebounding, is a defensive aspect of the game.

~The defense MIA is playing, is ranked #1 in the league.

~That's because their defenders are aggressive and they are hungry...especially the guys brought in only for that reason, like Anthony and Haslem.

There was none of that in Toronto, ever, so now you have a more defensively-aggressive team Bosh is on, in which now...instead of just him...you've got 4 extra players he's never had to contend with (on his team!) joining him in the fight for rebounds out there-----including 2 future HOF'ers! So by default, he and them, will all have less rebounds than each is accustomed to averaging, before this season.

But still, the resultant...

Is the most-efficient team in the league! Thats if you check that link I put up here last night...plus they're the best defensive team in the league, by a long shot according to all stats...so really...let's be honest here...

How can we have nerve to complain about him, here?

He's now the 3rd-4th option on offense, during any given play, yet we still expect to see the same guy? With 13 games under his belt/time to adapt to the new diminished role?

Great points.....I thought these things were obvious but a lot of people on this board don't care much about WHY things happen, they only see things and judge it in narrow minded fashion and go by ridiculous standards set by other players

i expect my 6'11 all star power forward who is earning more money then atleast five players to play like a 6'11 powerforward.grab someboards if your that good, just because others are getitng some boards doesn't mean shit. Never explains how HASLEM is coming off the bench and getting 3 more boards with less time...nigga is soft and can't box out with nobody over 250

If Lebron and DWade were smart enough to realize, back in September, that it would take until Jan-Feb for everyone to find their nitch...then

any fair-minded person, can get smart enough to see the same.

so...that explains why bosh can't grab more rebounds as a starting 6'11 all star then a bench player with less minutes how? regardless of adjustments and all of that, rebounding is fundamentally one of the more simply things to udnerstand in basketball. box out, two hand son the ball, make sure to find the pg waiting for the hand off. bosh can't be even in discussion as an all star pf if he can't get 10 boards on a team with lebron/wade on offense and really no defense big man beside shimself on the other sid eof the court. if a missed shot happens, he should be in the paint with his avatar soft ass waitin for a board instead of trying to play smaller players posistions. like i said, put a good or atleast decent pf in his posistion on this team and they would have ten rebounds eveyr game at the least.
