This was probably done to pacify CP3 at least until they finalize the sale of the team to Gary Chouest and that nigga can clean out that horrible front office the Hornets have. To me its a clear indication that this shit might get done soon cuz Shinn would have let Bower keep fucking up this team if it meant he aint have to pay nobody. I think they should get the GM from portland Kevin Pritchard for the simple fact that he knows how to scout talent and build a competitive team and has worked really well with Monty Williams. Its a good step in the right direction if we want to have ANY type of chance at keeping Paul but it only works if the sale is finalized soon.

I don't think this will stop CP3 to try out free agency. I think with this generation of NBA superstars (Lebron, Wade, Melo, CP3) like the attention and if CP3 doesn't like the way the team is going he will go thorough the free agency dog and pony show before signing with the Heat for the veteran minimum so he can be with his "best friends". These stars aren't competitive anymore.

I understand what you saying as far as just this particular move but technically CP3 can do shit till 2012 offseason they have until now and then to try to makes some moves and this was a very good way to start. CP3 always seemed to be the more humble dude out of that bunch anyway. He aint the type to pull a Lebron if he leave. It is scary to think tho since he's real close with Bron and just signed on with his agency. I just hope he don't let them niggas turn him into a follower he may not be as famous or praised as Bron but he's always been more of a leader than Lebron could ever be.

Jeff Bower had just interviewed while New Orleans was playin in the Summer League, and he said that they WOULD NOT trade Chris Paul, so now that they have "mutually decided to part ways" so i gotta assume Cp3 is outta there.
