Nah. If you fall off and turn to drugs that's some weak shit.

Basically guaranteeing you going to stay in a fucked up position.

Exactly. Drugs will just medicate them into complacency on some depressive I deserve to die shit, thus no changes. On the other side, making a firm decision to stay away from drugs would lead to wanting to do whatever necessary to change the situation so you can feel the true reward for getting out. I think that's a more inspirational way to look at it.

Over here its expensive as shit. There are whole families living in the tent cities..with pets and all. No mental disorders, drugs, or anything. They just cant afford the rent. Shits crazy, their tents are like full on houses. They separate their areas with pallets, make gates. I went running through there one night and it was movie night. Had a big ass tv and a generator.

The chronics/fiends...fuck them

Thats nonsense. All you have to do is go to a psych hospital and tell them you're homeless. They'll find you a place to stay. Its illegal for a psych hospital to release somebody who doesn't have a place to stay.

I know because I lived it. Thats what happened to me. I'm currently living in the projects trying to get out but at least I have a roof over my head.

its different..there arent that many housing options, almost everywhere involved in those kinds of programs is full. states send mfs here on a one way because we dont have "winter"... plus we deal with that COFA shit heavy. micronesians come here by the thousands basically with nothing. they dont know the culture, barely any of the language so by default theyre settin up tents.

I think unfortunately feins have fucked it up for those who were and are homeless because of a genuine cause. I also believe that people that are obviously (meaning you can see that they are indeed disabled) should be priority. People who are homeless with a genuine cause should get some kind of push to once again get back on their feet. Things are easier said than done and I wouldn't want to pass judgement on any of the aforementioned but I read and heard first hand cases of people who only needed a push to get going somehow. On the other hand I do believe some people unfortunately don't want the help and are content with this life. My grandfather who recently passed away was an example to me. He came to this country back in the early to mid 80s, had an accident at a workplace and went back to his country with some money. He decided to become and alcoholic and enjoy his money drinking and partying and women. Fast forward to early 2000s and he was given a second opportunity by his daughters who helped him get a visa and bring him back to the states so he can change his ways and get back on his feet but long story short he decided not to and continued his ways even here. As family we foresaw that he would definetly end up a homeless easily here and was sent back home.

I have also encountered several you bug people in the streets of Miami asking for money and I tell you I stopped giving out money to be honest. Some folks seem perfectly fine to be able and ask and seek for a job to get going like many people do on the daily basis. Unfortunately life can be hard and throw one a curveball so I do not pass judgement but instead I like to think that people who are able and are unfortunately homeless can find a way and get back up. For some feins the same goes but I couldn't explain their train of thought dealing with addiction. I can be wrong but I think is an excuse to some people because is easier to get money for free to support an addiction than to labor and do your thing. Is a touchy subject because how do you explain people who where once addicted to the most powerful drugs out there and found a way to clean up vs people who have not or even people who have no addiction or disability and are still homeless.

those that have support systems and are willing to do what it takes to get back up. versus those that dont have those support systems or flat out wanna keep doin their own thing. like, there are shelters and things but they have rules that some of these people just dont wanna follow.

100% agree don't get how people look down on them trying to escape their life. Meanwhile the person with a stable life has a bad day and feels the need to drink

Right, ppl sound self righteous when they rationalize not giving cash to homeless ppl because they think they'll use it on drugs or alcohol. They're fuckin HOMELESS. Let them use that lil bit of money and let them try to escape the fact that they're sleeping outside with bugs and rodents.

Sometimes I feel like being homeless would be so freeing. I'd never do it though. I couldn't beg and I love my family.

I be thinking the same thing sometimes because some homeless ppl ironically look like they dont have a care in the world lol. Niggas dont got no bills, no asshole boss they gotta answer to....

Shit still gotta suck tho. But it is prolly freeing in an odd way.
