Young Money

In all fairness, it took YM years to get going I mean Wayne was screaming YM for eons before Drake and Nicki came along, shit Currensy dipped the fuck out, because of the amount of time it took to take off.

YM will not last long....when Wayne goes...so does the label....Cash Money Records is the reason for YM success..

Thats the case with any label i.e. Roc-a-fella, G Unit, Ruff Ryders, Murder Inc. the label is only relevant/hot as long as the lead artist is. You cant have a label with out a staple artist.

not necessarily....Def Jam Records in the 80's and 90's had ...Public Enemy, EPMD, Slick Rick, Beastie Boys...etc...If any one of those groups would have left the label would have still been strong...

Uh you serious? This comparison made no sense at all. There's a hiearchy you know that right? Comparing Def Jam with labels that was started by artists/straight from the streets are completely different, not only business wise but also how it's built. It's like naming G-Unit and comparing it to Interscope, it's not the same thing. G-Unit would be a subsidiary of Interscope in that case and a label started by an artist (50 Cent).

oh you went platinum...yea thats nice...now lets see you do the same thing twice...three times, four times, maybe a couple more times..(NAS)

50 went platinum on Dre's label.....the rest of them cats got lucky because of the hype....what happened to them on their second albums?

facts? the fact is in the pudding. you said hip hop labels that NEVER got off the ground? How can a label never got off the ground when the ceo & his rap acts are selling well. YM shouldnt be on there neither

G-Unit had a run, YM getting their run in the industry & both was/is known popular labels. if you call that not getting off the ground then you gotta throw in Good Music, Roc-a-fella etc. Every label is going to have their run in the industry

Ill Will is a perfect example of fail labels

Uhh dont count Game in that list tho. Game was never a G-Unit artist. Game was what artist like Pill was to MMG. Happens every day in the industry. Artist yall think are signed to certain labels really ain't. I agree with your point tho.

Every artist he had on his label went platinum.. The question was what label did not get off the ground? having 4 artist that all went double platinum or better on their first albums is definitely off the ground..

Any label with a platinum plaque, let alone a commercially released album shouldn't be mentioned. An LB Dub Gang, SODMG or a Swagg Records (the fuck?) ain't got shit on G Unit or YM.

And Carmello Anthony's label that Cass is signed to
