You just took me on a walk down memory lane. 1987 was my freshmen year in high school. LL Cool J, Rakim, KRS were the new generation and guys like Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5, the Treacherous 3 and Run DMC were considered "old school".

Just for the record, don't forget Stetsasonic and Steady B. They were both hot in 1987. Stet's first album was 5 mics but I'm not sure if it came out in late 86 or early 87. But yeah, BDP, Eric B and Rakim and Public Enemy were just getting warmed up.

Yea I mentioned Stesasonic in the 86 thread, but I forgot Steady B dropped in 87. Man I was 1 lol , but my unc put me on to hip hop when i was like 8,and schooled me to alot of the legends from the 80s.

I remember going back to school in September of 87. The hot songs that were out at the time were;

1. Pickin Boogers - Biz Markie

2. Just Rhymin With Biz - Big Daddy Kane feat Biz Markie

3. Get Into It - Big Daddy Kane

4. Jim Browski - The Jungle Brothers

5. Going Way Back - Just Ice

6. Top Billin - The Audio Two

7. Rebel Without a Pause - Public Enemy

8. Juice Crew Diss - Cool C

9. Use Me - Steady B

10. Rockin Music - Steady B

Those songs all came out in the late summer/early fall of 1987. Not quite summer jams.
