not on here specifically, but ask any young person these days and they will say something silly like "drake(insert other miscellaneous homo) would shit on him, way better punchlines/metaphors"

the lack of respect shown to the OG's is one of the biggest problems in the game

There young they'll learn... I can't say for hiphop because i always loved the pioneers but I use to think old school r&b was wack compared to what I liked... at the time that was boyz II men, BBD type shit... Now I know nothing is touching The Temptations, 5 heartbeats, ojays, etc... I was just to young to understand that tho... Give em time they'll realize it when there new guy goes and cubes today was a good day still plays every summer.

EXACTLY MY POINT

People still bump cube songs 20 years later, do people still even play HITS like "a milli" or "bedrock"

sadly i don't think today's generation will look back to the older dons

So hip hop died the day pac said, "all you old rappers tryna advance, it's all over now take it like a man"or did it die the day it was heard by the masses?

On the contrary its the old heads who dont embrace the hip hop of today.... at least the young heads do their homework as they get more and more into the culture. An old head will listen to one song and deem the whole the culture wack

hip hop is very competitive by nature and is viewed as a young mans sport. so when an older rapper shows decline thats when they say stuff like that, and they seem to ignore what they have done in the past because to them if you're still not making hits then in their eyes you dont matter

there are rock bands still inspired by the likes of the beatles, rolling stones, and guitarists inspired by hendrix, most of whom werent born when them niggas was running the game

thats whole different genre. It has to do with the overall sound imo thats why younger dudes don't like it, i never been a big rakim fan, krs 1, or any of that not because i think they suck because it just doesn't appeal to me.

artists like athletes, have gotten better as the music developed.

bill russell woulda got murked in today's NBA

so drake, wayne, nicki and kanye are better than the last generations artists ..i.e jay, nas, pac and big?

baffling concept which makes no sense to me
