When did this series start and why isn't the anime section popular over here?

I know the manga version started a long time ago, I was in HS. Not sure when the anime started, about a 1-2 months ago.

The way the forums are setup, most folks probably don't even know there is one, and it takes a while to get responses from people, so most probably don't bother.
