so only basketball players do crazy shit in the middle of a game?
heyslick;1769860 said:I couldn't care less about hockey.....I just don't find them antics in the NBA entertaining & the cast of characters aren't IMO truly playing the game in a sportsmanship fashion. It's all about the intimidation factor. IMO BB is more like the pre-fight hype in boxing. I came to see A BB game not some boxing match.

heyslick;1769831 said:Very true but do antics make the race or is the event the entertainment?
heyslick;1769946 said:No I am not --- so you can dislike something and voice your opinion regarding said dislike and that's cool....yet let me do it and I'm race baiting. HOLY SHIT! you just don't let it alone do you? Damn your like the guy who complains about all the white washing machines @ the local laundromat -- SO the manager lifts the lids on two of them and says look at them black agitators inside.
heyslick;1770016 said:So now you're telling me that African Americans would never go back in their roots and mimic certain aspects of said culture.....so is that what your saying? I do believe that Chris Weber would be one who has the resources to not only find them kind of things out,but to ALSO put his own little style to said actions. Now your insisting that is out of the realm of possibility?

The basketball star talks about why he started his collection of African American items and what he'd like to add to it
Chris Webber, 32, is a towering 6-foot, 10-inch star forward with the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team. He's also an avid collector of rare books and letters and other artifacts of African American history. Among other things, he owns a rare 1773 first edition of Phillis Wheatley's book Poems on Various Subjects, the first book of poetry ever published by an African American.
So now you want his complete itinerary as well --- now feel free to answer my question about the possibility that Webber picked up on the Karo tribesman's and their unusual rituals. I see the connection but somehow your offended by those actions.....how come you/some wanna cling to your African ancestry but when some one shows a connection to said history you get all twisted.
heyslick;1770100 said:Nope! not bothered just tired of seeing it....BTW I've never seen to many black folks make distinctions when they're dwelling about being stolen from Africa....so why wouldn't Webber look deeper into his roots.
heyslick;1770204 said:I never categorically stated any such thing. BTW how can he or anyone for that matter bring back any rituals? He could very well have traveled throughout the Continent and saw those tribes and decided to mimic those actions in his own way....I asked earlier if Africans don't take little bits and pieces from their African culture and mimic them in way or another......are you gonna deny that, again? -- So white people mimic lot of things they admire in African Americans....and many/some claim their stealing AA's culture........BS (that's actually flattery). SO now you wanna deny that Chris Webber could not have done any such thing.....oh NO black man would ever do any such thing. & yeah CW would never lie and get indicted for such actions....right?
heyslick;1770267 said:OK I can face reality without reservation's.....GET READY! the game of Basketball is no longer a sport for white men....can you handle it? BTW if your gonna find me guilty at least get the charges right......I never said that, I don't like Ethiopian rituals across the board.....I talked about origins of said rituals.
heyslick;1769937 said:Thanks for proving my point --- The NBA is headed in that direction & I no longer find it true entertainment & psychological intimidation is very prevalent in the NBA.....I find it ironic you talk 'bout what them white boys from the past did & they couldn't hold a candle next to how the players of the hip hop culture play today. IMO its more like the street game.

The only thing you may have a point about is the current "hip hop" generation of players. A lot of them play with a lot more cockiness than their predecessors. But at the same time, these new niggas are soft as shit compared to the old guard (especially the Jordan era) of the NBA.
