For the sake of distance, I live in Louisiana. I've been stuck in Tenn, Virginia, Georgia, Mississippi, California, Michigan. My longest was in Laredo, TX. Two weeks waiting on my truck to get out the shop. Right at the border, but you might as well call it Mexico damn near. The truck would break down, bad weather, accidents, or having to sit cause my hours was up. Long as you in a populated area, towns and such, you're good.

The company would give money for a hotel, but that was it.

There's stretches of interstate like I40, I80, and I70 on the west where it's a good 4 hour drive to the nearest sign of civilization. Shit's a wasteland. No cell phone towers or nothing. You catch a flat tire or worst...... you is fucked. Especially if it's at night.

in my area dudes always stand in front of the mall of the gas station and ask for money b/c "they need gas to get back to insert city here" I always took that shit as they homeless bum hustle...and if I do give them money its like pocket change
