when I was younger, I was a lot more exclusive when it comes to music. I listened to strictly hip hop and a little bit of R&B. As I got older, I got more into lyrical hip hop. Right now, I like acts like Binary Star and Strange Fruit Project but I mostly listen to reggae and soul and punk rock

When I was younger I had less conception of who was really better than who. I liked a lot of artist who were typically "technical" lyricists but whose styles have gotten old and stale (like Black Thought said "for spittin played-out patterns that once was hittin'")...now lyrical artists have to really come original to impress me otherwise it feels like I've heard it all before.

1. I listen to music before I judge it now.

2. I used to have a top 10 of rappers. Now I don't because I don't give a fuck what people think about what I listen to. SMH ar people that are mad cause you don't like what they like.

3. I'm less likely to defend a rapper because they did some stupid shit. SMH at ignorant/stupid rappers.

4. I don't care how bad the music gets in the South or any where else for that matter. As long as the artist I like make music is the only thing that matters to me.

5. I used to download rappers music. Now I buy it because I think they deserve to get paid for the time they put in. SMH at people making excuses for stealing music.

As I get older I want more quality with my Hip Hop. I usually listen to Stevie Wonder , Anita Baker , Maxwell , Sade etc, Those type of artist offer you alot musically . Songs with depth and great instrumentation and musicianship . I least like to listen to rappers than and at least offer me something closer to that.
