Lil Wayne?

the niggas career was never in the gotdamn shitter to begin with.

you niggas are starting to act like these white boys did with eminem and g-unit.... yeah... yall almost on that level of ridiculous.

I see your point but you have to admit the Weezy from the late 90's early '00's that was rapping sh*t like "wobbly wobbly" is a different Weezy from the one we known now. The Carter made heads respect him as an emcee whereas before he wasn't taken seriously as a rapper.

you obviously never listened to any of the movie soundtracks.

he showed the fuck out on baller blockin

he showed the fuck out on mannie album too.

real niggas know the deal yo.

I actually own Baller Blockin' and Weezy stepped it up tremendously @ The Carter. Can we atleats agree to the fact he gained alot of new fans after that album dropped. Atleast give me that much.

naw i dont think wayne a good comparison.. i mean yeah he wasn't taken seriously as an mc.. but he wasnt no weed carrier.. cs Poncho on the Rick Ross though.. better comparison

throw em in there too, nobody bought that first rappidy rap disc

re-invented himself as slim shady, met dre=bang

No not Em because he was never "on" til he met Dre. He was underground his whole career up until that point.

He went from being DTP's weed and baggage carrier (always thought I-20 and Lil' Fate were way nicer) to having a hit with Dolla Boy as the duo Playaz Circle although that was mostly thanks to the Lil' Wayne feature and then their second album flops so he goes solo and blows up and you hear him everywhere now.

Has any other artist been in the game mainly as a sidekick that blew up after over 10 years like 2 Chainz. By the way I'm still pissed we never got a second I-20 album (Self Explanatory was dope) or a Lil' Fate album (He was nice on that "Growing Pains" track)

I agree with ery thing you said. I-20 was dope. Only ones that come to mind are perhaps 3-6 after they won that Oscar or Common after he signed to Good music. Now ofcourse they were well respected in the genre and had great catalogues but they got taken to another level.

Lil Wayne is a good example too.

Wayne got him. Literally.

Wayne was heat with the Block is Hot fell the fuck off at 500 Degreez then he went in on the mixtape circuit and popped up with The Carter.

Tit, unfortunately, never "revived." He didn't have a career. He just took off after years of grinding.

I never seen somebody come up and fall off faster than 2 chainz...

remember TRU realigion? Remember how dope that shit was? One day at a time? Understatement?

then he got mainstream and fucked all the way up with his watered down shit

his last album was dope to me, i need to get around to his new EP, id prolly consider tru realigion a peak tho, even tho he had a bunch of nice shit b4 that

RZA (His solo career went nowhere b4 forming the Wu)

GZA (His solo career b4 the Wu was stalled)

Will Smith (Yes white folks luv his music ever than b4 ever since tv success)

Flavor Flav (A non-musical career resurgence that almost single-handedly ruined the legacy of Public Enemy)

I remember when Wayne became a problem

I was walking down the street and this nigga was selling CDs like I got that new Wayne.

Tha Carter, this shit hot my nigga.

I'm like yeah nigga if you say so i don't wanna here that wobbly bling bling shit

I didn't get it of course bc I was a non believer but i remember I heard BM Jr and i was thinking this can't be the same nigga.

Shit was flames

he had the tapes Then Tha Carter II came out the next year and he was a completely different nigga
