"Gangsta rap aint dead, it didn't die

It took steriods to the head & became Crooked I"

(Had to thow that Crook quote in there^)

Look man, its like this

I think its kinda unfair to say Gangsta rap is dying out. If you really think about it rap sales across the board has been down for some years but like Memphis2sacnicc said, whenever im in my old neighborhood or playing pool or lifting weights most of the people im around even the gurls wanna hear that hard shit and will wtf side eye you and call you out if you throw on some MF Doom, Drake, or Diddy or something. I hang wit muhfuckas that want that Dogg Pound, that M.O.P, that Tupac, that Scarface, old Ice Cube, The Game, Some Jay Rock and shit like that.

Nope. Shit just returned to its roots. Gangsta music is almost political music at this point. They not finna broadcast revolution music.

Gangsta rap dont sell anymore when most people realized you can dl music for free and here's the most important part... WHEN THEY REALIZED THAT THEY AINT GANGSTAS either. Nor do they want their kids to glorifying it.

What's wrong with just being an everyday man with everyday issues coming from a struggle or a black perspective.

That's as "hard" as I need it. I don't need my "head on a swivel". I'm good.

Just because that's might be where you're from, don't mean your musical taste and mentality needs to stay there.

One more thing I want to add it is possible to like Wutang, Drake, DMX, Future, JayZ, and Lupe, and Nas at the same time. Everyone got a different mood. How each one sells I no longer care as long as I appreciate the product at the end of the day and enjoy it according to the mood I'm in.

Shut up you suburbanite.

It's all about programming. Majority of the music channels, radio, magazines are non gangsta have u noticed? To be on one of these they only tend to display rappers that are able to do pop tracks or feature on rock tracks. Gangsta rap in the mainstream they're trying to water down and make everybody like Drake. Underground gangsta rap still thrives tho

i can't deny some of these niggas like yung thug really bout that street life. However i am not a fan of the turn street music went when it started becoming full of autotune hooks and headache filled effects. That's why i fucks with a nigga like YG who still just straight raps no autotune high pitched effect bullshit.

Aye don't step on my lawn, you see the fence.

Every artist you mentioned, I listen to and bump most of their music religiously.

Expect Drake. The nigga music lacks masculinity.

Depends....on the delivery

Gunplay has that raw 90s NY 'fuck shit up' style that kinda reminds me of MOP/Onyx feel

But u got niggas like Vince Staples with the same style but the delivery is swifter

It's all about the content if your music represents harsh street life it's gangsta rap. Trap & drill music is gangsta rap & it's popping harder than ever.

Now if you're talking about the spice 1 & c bo type gangsta rap then that shit is definitely ancient
