Has any rapper actually followed Jay-z's "Blueprint"?? And if so....How?

  • Thread starter Thread starter New Editor

Jayz didnt make his moves until two of the best died (BIG and PAC) . And most rappers get in the game to make money hence the music business....So i dont see whats so unique about his blueprint (krs made blueprint first)that he didnt copy from other genres

Remember on TI's Watch What You Say To Me he said "you talking to the author, the architect of the blueprint/my dna in your music, mutherfucker you stupid?" which I believe was directed at Wayne.

I thought it was Wayne but I can't remember why. I don't think he would have dissed Luda because wasn't he still with Def Jam at that time?

Remember back then there was a subliminal back and forth thing between Wayne and Jay which got deaded for a while when they made Hello Brooklyn and Mr. Carter. I don't remember the whole song but he said something about "reintroducing you to your father", which was the biggest shot at Wayne in that song.

difference between 50 and jay is jay gets the love 50 would die for.

how so? 50 is more known international.

Without marrying Beyonce, Jay would not be as known. bc Beyonce goes everywhere

Exactly Jay Z has never had an Album that sold as much as Get Rich Or Die Trying and The Massacre or a Single that was as huge worldwide as In Da Club

50's Worlwide sales are also higher than Jay Z's who has never been a superstar to the level 50 Cent was from 2003-2008

Jay Z wasn't even a star until he started dating Beyonce which is when his sales increased

What exactly is Jay-Z's blueprint? From what I've seen, he's really just good at jumping on whatever trend is popping at the moment. It's not like he's innovative or ever brings too much that's new to the table.

Like jumping on Crunk music, snap music, dance music? oh wait

And u can't 4get auto tune

Musically what has Jay Z done that is innovative or set a blueprint for others?

He basically pays RnB Singers like Alicia Keys, R Kelly, Mary J Blige, Pharell Williams etc to feature and do the Hooks on a large portion of his Songs like many other Rappers who don't do Hooks and get RnB Singers to do the Hooks like 2pac, Rick Ross, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Lil Wayne

He used Punchlines like a lotta other Rappers such as Jadakiss, Cassidy, Fabolous etc did

He got big name Super Producers like Timbaland, The Neptunes, Kanye West, Dr Dre etc to Produce his Music like

He used a fast Flow

When i say star i mean internationally like 50 Cent was in 2003 to 2008 Jay Z wasn't that until he dated relationship and started getting her to do Hooks for him

Before then majority of Jay Z's fan base was in New York where as from 2003 50 had a fan base in every state in America, worldwide in Europe, Asia, Africa, Middle East

To give credit for 1 thing he did do that influenced some Rappers is that he Freestyled his Lyrics never wrote Songs which influenced people like Lil Wayne to do the same

Not a positive imo though

Honestly his fans, jigga warriors whatever you wanna call em should be grateful that he had a relationship with and married Beyonce

Give some examples of him needing a r&b person 4 a crutch that helped his album or career... and jay used Ye and Jus blaze b4 they were hot and if he was just a punchline rapper u really think he would have lasted as long as he has?

You can almost literally take the entire song of U Don't Know to answer this question

Jay-Z's REALITY is the Blueprint he speaks of. Not so much his music. Even though this thread is a see through attempt to discredit him. Taking things literally and glossing over things that dont support ur agenda. Textbook nonsense

Its Jay-Z's lines. His proclaimations and the Say to Do ratio of his lyrics that impress upon other rappers and his fans.

Jay-Z is a great artist as far as songwriting and hitmaking is concerned. He is very limited on subjects but wonderful as far as content is concerned. Musically Jay-Z is not nearly as influential as his music doesnt influence as much as his attitude and process. His approach to making albums marketable w/o diluting them. Borrowed from Biggie and expounded on by Puffy (The Bounce; Moment Of Clarity; Izzo; Hard Knock Life; Come & Get Me)

You guys gotta do ya research. These Jay-Z Aint Shit threads have been done much better and much more clever. Niggas tryna use play action and aint even establish the run yet.

Jay Z just Raps mostly Verses about selling drugs, money, cars, women. He gets RnB Singers to write and do the Hooks on his Songs

How can a person who just Writes Verses consisting of Entrendes and Punchlines about selling drugs, wealth, materalsim, that doesn't Write Hooks gets RnB Singers to do them be anywhere near an ok Song Writer even?

That's all he do Write Verses about the Content conisting of drugs, money, wealth anyone can write a Verse about selling drugs, money and cars that is easy

And the RnB Singers that feature on all his Singles Hooks are the reason the Songs are Hits with out them crafting a Hook for him and featuring they would not be Hits

@almightybreeze- False nigga. Jay is my fav rapper. Stop being so defensive.

The premise of the thread is genuine. I just wanted to see who other people look @ as following his "Blueprint" and there reasons for picking those artists.

Alot of ways to look @ it. I do agree withuthat his biggest influence on rappers is how they're living in real life vs "just rapping about it". He helped artists be more business conscious.
