Im gonna get a lot of WTF reactions for this but I've never listened to it. There was just so much other stuff going on musically back then that I fucked with that I just overlooked it. Yet somehow I got to hear Lasers as soon as it dropped smh

Now that there is such a drought for illness I guess it's a good time as any to finally sit down with it. Gonna listen to this and 4:44 (first Jay album in 8 yrs, gonna go off your reccomendations) with a 6 pack and a dub later on tonight.

I love this entire album but Put You On Game is my shyt!!

One of my all time favorite tracks. The wordplay, the imagery and the fact it has so many interpretations woven throughout.

He could be rapping from the perspective of the devil, money, corrupt government, war and violence. It's just high quality rap

Top 5 Lupe track for me

This is that album that made me a Lupe fan for life. Bought this album from the CD store in buffalo New York when I was away at college. This was so big for me my freshman year in college. Because of that this is one of my favorite albums ever. I played this album going to class, at work coming back to the apartment dorms, busting roommates ass in madden and 2k lol everywhere.

Not gonna lie it took me a while to end up understanding the story of the cool, streets and Game. I turned a few people on campus to Lupe fans that year.Even my girl at the time ended up learning the words to the album lol. And I still give it burn now. Don't have the time to post the tracks from YouTube but my top songs are

The coolest

Streets on fire

Put you on game

Dumb it down

The die(death of the cool)

Can't believe it's 10 years already. I don't know if Hip Hop will claim its a classic but to me personally, it's a classic regardless

my most coveted thing is a high self-esteem

And a low tolerance for them telling me how to lean

See, the most important parts are the ones that are unseen

The wings don't make you fly and the crown don't make you king

Now, God don't like ugly, ain't too happy 'bout pretty

I am ignorance's enemy so stay out the vicinity of
