If everybody who made music decided they were goin to be the best artist they can be best believe the labels can and will market that music just right so ppl will buy it. Part of marketing is making ppl buy stuff they really don't want or need.

Okay, so whats the problem? All these rappers that yall say are better should be right there in the spotlight getting that push from their marketing team too then right??? What u mean if they decided they were going to be the best artist they can be? Thats what all artists try to strive for, to be the best at what they do...and if not, then why even do it?.... And money isnt an excuse, its a factual element of the industry, u think people make music for it to always be free? Niggas make a living off of that and to some its their only career they have that provides for them...

Nope not all artist strive to be the best they can be. Wocka Flocka flat out said "I don't wanna be the best" he just makes music just to make money. Gucci says whatever he feels like sayin. OJ said he don't want to be Lyrical because he has "traptivity".... what ever that means. But whats stronger than doing it for the money is doing it for the love. Like i said their are a million ways to make money and the sayin "If you do some good you shouldn't do it for free" are turning away alot of great artist that don't waist their time because it's harder to get into the industry if you have talent. It's easier to shape and form a rapper into what ever you want them to be when they are just doing it for the money. Thats why these labels keep signing and pushing these halfa rappers.

And the reason these labels keep pushing these types of rappers is because of the type of music the "PEOPLE" are demanding...its not really the artists fault for getting launched into the public eye the way they have been doing, its these big dawgs in the office who really dont have that much respect for the art as a whole and probably dont even care about nothing except for how much money it brings to them. If party music stopped making money, you wouldnt hear it as much. If gangsta rap came back and exploded like it did before, then thats all you would hear. Everything is controlled by supply and demand. And the REAL problem starts with these new generations who are just being exposed to ONE or a few types of music instead of learning about the craft in its entirety. Even with that said, people still have a choice...I just wished that people were provided with a vast number of selection

No music is not supply and demand. They find ways to market this music. When Gangster rap came out it wasn't because "Oh Jeff i think the Negroes want to hear music about killing each other now lets create these gangster rappers." Ice t came out with a style of rapping that he wanted to make then they found out a way to market it. There is not a variety of music and that is the problem. MC Hammer was very entertaining but just think if it was only MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice and those type of entertainers on TV you don't think ppl would start to get annoyed and complain? So if all we are gettin from the south is the wackness yall have of course ppl are gonna complain and it's not just the south its Hip Hop in general needs to step it up.

Because you can't mold an Artist that wants to be the best artist they can be. It's easier to get these wack younger rappers who have no sense of who they are and just want to make a dollar. PPL who would do anything for money are the best ppl to sign because they become puppets and you can do what ever you want to do with them. And since when did the ppl with these degrees and who really know marketing at these labels care about Hip Hop? And it's cheaper to sign dumber artist than it is to sign artist who studied the game and undestand what they are worth.

I still dont see how u answered my question tho, u said that marketers can MAKE people buy shit that they dont necessarily want or need...so if that good, righteous, hip hop music is not what people want or need right now, why arent they forcing them to like it just like they apparently have done with the music thats being listened to now?.....and yea, ive said before that these new generation of rappers need a better direction and not be solely about money. I just answered your question. It's easier and cheaper to sign wack rappers because they know they don't have to do Artist development like they use to. And the American ppl aren't really that smart to be honest so they are gonna accept what ever they can shake their ass too. And they are trying to make us believe that life is all about partying and having a good time and its really not. The more entertainment you have the more dumber the people are going to get....
