Can't post a video yet... But I remember growing up & going to school in Dead End, there wasn't a day that would go by where niggaz wouldn't come down Selinsky without poppin a trunk.... Southside Fades.... Starcy-Archy jeans.... And it didn't matter what time of day it was or where you were.... If "Southside" by Lil Keke came on.... U did the damn Southside........

I Love my city....

so,

is Port Arthur apart of the Houston movement or not???

yea I include UGK apart of the Houston scene because they adopted Pimp & Bun

plus they also rep H-Town too

i looked that shit up on that map. i would though PA is near HOU like Springs,TX is,
but nope,
that shit is like an hour or more drive

i always wondered cuz dj dmd choose to rep PA,
his album was called "P.A. Worldwide",
so i wondered was there some kinda divide between PA & HOU
like a musical divide that you can notice,
not a real beef like north vs south houston

good question, I doubt it but hopefully a couple of houston posters can address that. but I think it isnt any friction there

*sidenote* Pimp C & Boomertown (the video director) was in a rap group along with some more people in middle school

yes they are part of the movement. they may not be geographically in arms reach but Conroe,PA, Houston, Beaumont, East Texas, Lafyette, Lake Charles and southwest Louisiana is all I-10 connection, Gulf Coast. One thing about Texas we so fucking big we have different sounds for different region. our music and underground scene is more diverse than NYC in the 90s. you got the gulf coast, south/south central texas is basically mexico with tejahno/808 bass rap, el paso out there in western texas and they got a west coast vibe to them. north texas connect 3 ways to the midwest so you got the fast rappers, occult/horrocore, pimping raps, DFW has made their own lane in under 10 years. Texas>New York

PA is down with Houston. Been that way since the Screw days. No beef or nothing. PA is like a cultural extension of the city as far as the rap scene here. Definitely nothing like the Northside Southside thing back in the day.

I Like the 90's houston rap, but since DJ Screw died, it all went downhill from here.

this was the best out of houston.
