at no point in time was he in the line of fire. The gunman wasn't interested in anything but shooting at the cops. Neither the gunman or cops turned in his direction at all. He was in a spot where the chances of a stray heading in his direction was minimal to non-existent.

I earned my hood nickname because one day walking home from school a rival hood drove by shot at me and some friends and I didn't run. It didn't even register in the moment in was just like "fuck running". Looking back I was just dumb.
