ain't there still alot of niggas from new orleans still there?

Yezzurrr....but not as much as there used to be post Katrina in 05-06 though. That was the straight New Houston phase. Complaints from a lot of native Houstonians around that time which i found to be kind of funny. N.O. is where all my fam originally from.

Los Angeles # 3. I have forever love for Cali. we used to live in Santa Ana and Oceanside during 89-96 and my Samoan cousins stayed in L.A. who i frequently visited. I remember the act of moving from Cali to Houston feeling like a huge, depressing social downgrade when everything finally set in.

Man, is Houston really that bad? I'm living in LA right now and there's no place like it. What did you find about Houston coming from Santa Ana and San Diego?

It's not bad, it's just a different flavor. It can take some getting used to coming from westcoast. Westcoast is an entirely different level. I know it's a generalization, but besides the laws, the people is what makes Cali and Texas feel like two completely different worlds. The overall mentality is different. Folk not too friendly in the H. If you too friendly, you might get looked at sideways and set up on some jacking ish. I remember peeps in Cali being of more of a liberal mindset. Ex: you not gonna be looked at stupid if you rollerblading down the street. In houston, you might get shot just because you even have the nerve to be rollerblading down the street...it's just like that. lol Also being that the city is so diverse and filled with so many different cultures, everything i just generalized about the mass mentality may actually turn out to be the complete opposite tomorrow. It's weird.

It's certainly easy to have fun in Houston though. There's a lot you can do with just 20 bucks being that Houston is kinda like a party city. I swear that's all these foos know how to do down here. Party and get messed up. A different smoke shop like every 2 blocks in the community like we really need more of those.

One of the biggest main differences is the weather though. Houston is hot as hell. Cali weather is straight Heaven compared to the H lol. Oh, and the weather changes every 5 minutes from either extreme heat or extreme cold.

I hate cities that have that sheep mass mentality. Here in Cali, people do whatever the fuck they want. Everyone expresses themselves differently. And people are friendly, you can talk to anyone.

I used to live in the eastcoast where it's faster pace and nobody really talks to anybody. I imagine Texas is the same.

exactly how i remember it to be coming up as a youth.

Texas is def much slower than NY im sure. A friend of mine from H moved there to stay with his ppl for a time and he told me about it. I remember him mentioning folk up there be trying to hustle you and fast talk you too much.

where did you live?? places like NY, Philly and DC are fast pace cities but its hella culturally and socially diverse...

i got a friend from DC who moved out to houston and he hates it so far....definitely been a ruff transition for him, i guess it hard coming from a vibrant city to a slow paced metropolis....

I lived in NYC, NJ. The fast paced nature means people are go go go and don't have time to stop and talk or be hospitable. They'll yell at you if ask a stupid question, especially if you don't know your way around.

Where you at to be getting great money?

haven't been to LA yet but i've heard mixed things about it...not in a rush to get out there, I'm saving to go to Vancouver though instead. Major cities in the South >> Major cities in any other region. This is only because of the cost of living. I pay 670 for a 2 story condo with a balcony in a gated community, 2 gyms, 2 pools, landscaping and all of that shit. Plus you can go out and have a good time for the low. What can 670 get me out West? i know what it'll get me in NYC...lol
