Trap isn't only about a beat style it is a style of rap sonnet wise. It is heavily based off of wordplay. Wordplay has always been a part of rap but the way T.I. and Jeezy was doing that shit when they built the trap niggas said was wack at one time now everyone is basically doing it. I can remember vividly.

Trap use to be about the up and down of the game, now it's just beats. I thought T.I and and Jeezy was garbo but they made improvements. Jeezy always got love in NY and the reason why these artist truly blew up is because NY fucked with them(more so Jeezy, Wayne, Ross than T.I). I still remember when people called Jeezy Lil Jeezy then Hov and Fab put that stamp of approval and 2x plat.

Trap muzik was never wack and I don't think your statement is accurate. Diddy gave T.I. one of his first big co-sign's, he thanked Jada Kiss on one of his first albums. My biggest is that NY is the truly wack region.
