All this new technology is critiqued like it's a bad thing and within a few years it's the norm.

Color TV, cell phones, smart phones, Internet

All that, said to be shit

Now it's the norm

These glasses will be no different.

It caters to convenience.

Like I said, this type of move in technology will probably replace cellphones as means of how we talk to one another, send texts and use the Internet.

Google was smart. Now watch Apple and the rest of them jump on the bandwagon later.

Okay so having something on my eye that sees what I see both in real time and also sees whatever I'm looking at online in real time is the same as having a phone in my pockect that doesn't have any actual ties to me whatsoever...

If you want to buy the shit go buy it lol. Just stay away from me.

Your smartphone has ties to you. If you've ever used it for social media, it has ties to you.

But... I've told y'all what was up a few times before:

If you have a cellphone on you, your whereabouts can be known via tower triangulation and the GPS transponder built into every phone. These both work even if your phone is turned off.

Bluetooth headsets are wireless, and the signal can be intercepted without the device being "paired". This means your conversations can be heard without your knowledge.

The microphone in your phone can be turned on by remote, a "feature" built into pretty much every phone called "Roving Bug". This was recently used to put use to put a mob figure behind bars.

You're more apt to carry a debit car than cash. The reason is you believe that debit is more "secure" and "convenient". The real reason is to prep you for a cashless society, where hard money is nonexistent (or even outlawed). It's also easy to build a profile on your spending habits via these cards and anything authorities are watching for can be flagged, bringing even more scrutiny on you.

Even this small amount of data is outlined in many sci-fi books and the like. We pretty much moved in their direction, casually ignoring the warning signs in front of us because we're told we "need" these things.

You can get mad about this "LoJack/GPS system" all you want, but as long as YOU and everyone else have that phone in your pocket, using FB, twitter, IG, and whatever else, the shit has your Gmail acct in it, you look mighty ignorant about getting pissy about Glass.

I was knocking the fact that you seem to believe that keeping Glass away from you keeps you from being watched.

BTW, I do have the answers.

Pay for everything in cash unless it's a dire emergency. Actual cash, not a debit card.

If you must use a cellphone, get an older joint and use it strictly for absolute emergency calls, and even then use a pay phone if you can. Also, take the battery out of your phone when it's not in use.

Rid your life of social media. In truth, your life will be better off.

Request that your family and friends refrain from referencing you in their social media accounts and take your pics down.

The things you can control can help immensely to reduce your data footprint. What you cannot control are the people around you. They will still leave a trail.

Ok...

Have you seen the documentary on how Facebook saves information and sells it to third parties and government?

I been trying to learn more about that type of shit since I found out about it.

I saw that the default setting on the site allows anyone total access to your page, pictures etc. I went and changed it to private but I don't think that's good enough

i thought tablets were retarded...who wants a smaller screen laptop without a keyboard???

now who has one....

Tablets are not laptops though.I have a desktop, a laptops, a macbook and a tablet which all have their usefulness.I do not type or do work on my tablet as it lacks the capability just like my phone.Tablets offer a completely different purpose.

These google glasses have no purpose outside of recording and -uploading videos.

It's too early for most to have one. Give it a few years and everyone will have one. More features and this might replace the smart phone. It's def the future.

It will never replace phones. It does not have and never will have the capabilities of a phone. Its price would be way too high if it did.Plus the average person does not want to wear something on their face. This is only a gimmick like VR.

um... you do know that a Macbook = laptop... right?

anywho, tablets really ain't shit but expensive ass web browsers. Pretty much everything you can do on a tablet can be done on a laptop, but with more processing power behind it.

Yeah, the theory that they were doing that was being kicked around about the time that FB took Myspace's spot as the #1 social media site. In order to make money, they have to sell something to someone, so it only makes sense that they were selling your data to companies. It took a darker twist when it was suggested by someone in the know that they were selling data to governments around the world.

I saw that the default setting on the site allows anyone total access to your page, pictures etc. I went and changed it to private but I don't think that's good enough

fam, as long as FB owns the servers, your privacy settings mean absolutely nothing other than other people looking at your shit. They own your data. Every word you've typed, every private message you've sent, every pic you've posted, and every "like" you've ever made is all owned by Facebook.

I've never had a FB page and my Myspace page has been shut down for 3-4 years now. Never had a Twitter or IG page, no Friendster or Diaspora accounts and although Google tried to force me into a Google+ site, I promptly shut tht shit down.
