Yump i knew this album was going to be a fucking Cee Lo Goodie the Pop nigga ft Goodie Mob....SMH, I mean the nigga Ceelo is not going to fuck up that white man money at all.

I rather had a Goodie Mob album with out Ceelo with production from Organize Noize then this bullshit.

Ceelo just shit and pissed on the legacy of Goodie Mob this is a Ceelo album

They don't hear you fam.

And for the record. Janelle Monae as beautiful as she might be is, a corn ball. She stays trying to hard.

The rest of the dudes said the put the project in his hands and let him executive produce and lead it. I knew that would be a mistake.

That explains everything. Since none of Organized Noize was behind it there was no way It would sound anything like their first 2 albums. Cee-Lo probably only knows how to do it like he's been doing it since his first solo album.

Yeah, the crazy shit is them boys are still on point lyrically. All they had to do was get Organized Noize on the beats and this album probably would have been as good as the first 2.

A lot of the album sounds like Gnarls Barkley throwaways from St. Elsewhere. I like a handful of songs on Age, but it doesn't sound like a Goodie Mob album overall. As already stated, it sounds like Cee Lo Green featuring T-Mo, Khujo, and Gipp. Not even solo Cee Lo, but the early Gnarls Barkley Cee Lo. Even Cee Lo's solos still had songs on it that had that classic DF sound (except Lady Killer, which is still dope).

A brief song by song review:

U Don't Know What You Got - A great intro with Big Rube. Kinda makes you believe you're about to get that Old School Goodie.

State of the Art - The concept of the song is good, but this ain't really even a rap song to be honest. If you like Gnarls Barkley, you'll probably like this, but if you're looking for Goodie Mob, you'll be like WTF?

Power - See above. Basically a Gnarls Barkley type song f/ the rest of Goodie Mob.

Silence - Interlude

I'm Set - This is a decent song. It's not like that hard shit they used to make, but it's much better than the two preceding tracks.

Vallelujiah - First good song. The beat is still a little different than you might expect, but the rapping and feel of the song is just what you'd expect from Goodie.

Pinstripes - Ya'll have heard this one already in this thread. Dope track.

Special Education - Same as Pinstripes.

Ghost of Gloria Goodchild - Not a bad song, but it still sounds like a Cee-Lo joint featuring Goodie Mob.

Kolors - This isn't even a rap song. It's spoken word to a beat. It's good for what it is, but not exactly what I was expecting to hear on this album.

Come As You Are - Same as State of the Art and Power.

Nexperiance - This is a Cee-Lo solo. I'm guessing this is a leftover track from one of Cee-Lo's projects. Sounds like something you'd expect from one of his first two solos. It's not bad, but again not what you expect on a Goodie Mob album.

The Both of Me - A good track, but it's short and doesn't have anyone from Goodie in it. SMH

Balls - Interlude

Amy - Ummmm...I don't know what to say about this one. It's a song about a white girl, and it's basically another Cee-Lo solo song. I'm starting to think that this was never really a Goodie Mob album, but it'd a Cee-Lo solo that he let them hop on.

Understanding - This is a smooth track. I like it.

Uncle Red's Interlude - Interlude

Father Time - This is a good track with a nice concept.

This isn't a Goodie Mob album. It's a Cee-Lo album f/ T Mo, Khujo, and Gipp. I was afraid this would be the case when they said Cee-Lo would be handling the album's direction. I wonder what the other dudes were thinking when they made this shit, but I suspect that this was an album that Cee-Lo already had in the works and he put them on it.

Update: They fixed those songs that weren't working.

One Monkey Don't Stop No Show was decent even without Cee-Lo. It was better than World Party on my opinion.

world party caused me to not give it a chance...ima check that out

VERY disappointing. This shit was waaaay too far left. I like Special Education but that's just about it. Considering I wasnt a GM fan anyway I'm not too surprised but i expected better

I fucks with the album but just like many of yall it sounds like a Ceelo featuring Goodie Mob album. He must of strong armed the rest of the group so they agreed on it.
