there are actually women out there that don't sleep with men who don't have a serious interest in them which pretty much prevents you from being a single mom with a child born out of wedlock or having an abortion. you can check abortion statistics and see how many married women had one.

i have no problem with virgins or women like the ones i described above who do not sleep with men who have no intentions to start a family with them. by the way this is probably more or less the majority of women on this planet.

if you take away all the glamour and glitz marriage is the promise of 2 persons give each other in front of their families, friends and god (if you have a religious wedding which most people have) to stay faithfully together until death does them apart. if someone is not willing to give me this promise i would be a little careful to have this person's kids as a woman.

you can leave out all the festivities if you don't like them but any female with common sense (i know some niggas will call oxymoron here) could at least expect a man to give the promise to stay with her and prove the wholeheartedness of this promise by doing so in front of aforementioned parties and put his signature under this promise before having a child by this man.

if you are exclusive and long-term with the man in most cases i have seen a child is the trigger to get married finally.

and here is the percentage out of all women that had abortions who were unmarried:

what's the divorce rate tho? around 50%.....promising to be together doesn't mean you always will be. & unless you're on strict birth control you can't control whether you have a child or not if you're having sex with the person you're in a relationship with.

i don't wana be married & have no plans on having kids so i really don't care what type of mother i'ma be. not that i wouldn't do either but i don't plan on it. & you can have that commitment without being legally married.

i am not gonna and up as a single mom lol, i just think women should be a little more selective about who they sleep with since they are the ones that end up in a fucked position 9 outta 10 times...

i agree with the first point.

i don't have anything against marriage, but i don't see the point. realistically, northing's gonna change. if the relationship was shit before you put a ring on it, it ain't gon get better when you do. the same dynamics and problems will occur. if the relationship is healthy, strong, and built on communication and trust then getting married is just somethin extra to do. i'd get married if the person i was with wanted to, but its not a concern or a goal of mine to be. maybe my mind'll change in a few years when my tax bracket does or if there were kids involved since married couples have more rights/privileges than singles, but for now nah its pointless.
