and even if they did such a claim wouldnt have made a difference had the jury still felt as zim acted reasonably...again he had no duty to retreat

It was mighty quiet at work today, and I knew why. I am the only black woman in that office, and I am one that is extremely vocal regarding my children. I speak about my son, and the love I have for him can be heard in my voice and seen in my eyes. Today, those white folks knew to step lightly around me, as I have let it be known that my son could very well be in this position.
I teach my children to be careful and cautious of their surroundings. If a strange approaches, make sure you keep a good distance. If that person gets up on you, you FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE, because you don't know what that person has in store for you. I can't imagine any mother NOT teaching their child that very basic act.
I didn't want to be on this planet today. I live in a place where I have birthed a male child that is already equipped with three strikes. To know that one day, he will want to go out of my watchful eye and venture off into a world that sees him as target, an excuse and a 'thing', is too much to bear. What a sad, sad time we live in, where our black boys may not make it to being strong black men, where we are still just niggers and legally lynched for all the world to see.
I wish that one day, we can come together and be the strong people that we once were. Kings and Queens, innovators, thinkers, doers and makers. Lol one of the key point of contentions in the trial was whether trayvon was leaning forward when he was shot or was he backing up as gz was raising up because of the projection of the bullet and the position of the bullet hole in his hoodie
And whether or not you feel as though SYG law played a role in this particular case or not....its still a shitty law. Leaves the door open for too many people to get away with killing someone
