Ive been shitting on the same shit characters ive always had since they are shit characters. My original post was within 24 hours of the season finale but somehow im beating a dead horse. This show isnt above criticism. Just wanted to discuss recent turn of events that made a strong presence of "im a strong woman" at the cost of quality. My bad yall back to yall regular schedule program of house claiming till next april.

Great episode. I don't know what Martin is going to do with the books. At this point, he should just go his own road and have the stories go in two different directions. There is no way he will be able to tie thins up as cleanly as the show.

You sound like he ever needed the show...Martin ties up stuff pretty cleanly in the books if you're observant. I'll read the books any day over the show. That writing about the Red Wedding was as clever as any written word i've laid eyes on, and trust me bruh, i've read my fair share of books.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. He never really ties up anything without creating twice as many threads. This season started more or less where the books left off, only there are 2 or 3 plotlines in the book that aren't in the show and some of the plotlines in the show that were dealt with easily are a lot more complex in the book.

I'm not saying which is better. I'm just saying that I hope Martin doesn't even bother trying to make the two stories match up. I'd be perfectly ok with the books' story ultimately being drastically different from the show's story. It's pretty much moving on a path for that to be true anyway.

Maybe you're missing the fine print....it's all in the books if you read them. I don't think he's going to be influenced by some show...in his own words, only thing from the show that made him blink was Ned's execution....and i disagree, there are more than 2 or 3 plotlines not in the show.

Again, I'm not really sure what you're trying to say. Of course its "all in the books." As I already said, the books are more complicated than the show. However, if you read the books then you know that things can't be tied up as neatly as they have been in the show. The show's story can be ended in the next one or two seasons. It will be harder to end the books in the next one or two books without resorting to shitty writing. He also can't line the two stories up without ignoring the differences he's established, or again resorting to shitty writing.

And when I say 2 or 3 plotlines, I'm talking about major plot lines that are completely absent in any form from the show. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are:

The Dornish Prince and the Citadel kids. There is probably at least one more I'm forgetting about. Other than that, what other plot line is completely absent from the show. Most of the other plotlines are present in the show. They were just dealt with quicker or were purposely not developed.

Also, you can't compare what he's done in the past to what's going on now. Before, the source material was established and it was the show that was making concessions. Now the lore has has been established for the show ahead of the books, so we don't know how Martin will react to contradicting that. For example, may he didn't want Jon to be Lyanna's son. If that scores well with fans, which it will since it's essentially fanservice, would Martin really proceed on a different route? I don't know.
