So the boy is baby Lannister king right?

What?

When he says kill the boy.....is he talking bout Joffrey s little brother?

No he was telling Jon to become a man and kill the boy side of him,but I kinda think Jon will have to kill that kid who's in the night's watch who shot Jon's chick w/ the arrow.

Do ya'll cats only watch the show to see a main character get killed or something? lol It's like that's the only time some of you think it's interesting. How can you say the season ain't about shit? There hasn't been quite as much action this season, but the story has advanced a lot.

Most of these niggas are remedial or are just ADHD. They only focus on action.

I dont understand the hate on this episode. I thought it was actually pretty good. Dany fed her dragons, Stannis said fuck all this shit lets go to war, the rock people attacked the midget and Jorah, Jorah got that ticking clock death goin. Shit sound like a pretty decent episode to me. IDK.

I'm disappointed in the sand snake storyline so far. Book readers really hyped them up and they've been in one episode for about five minutes so far.

In a weird way, Roose Bolton's bonding moment with Ramsay was as heartwarming as Stannis' moment with his daughter.

Dude basically let him know that he was as sick and twisted as he was when he was a young man.

I'd forget almost everything book readers have said at this point. Most of the storylines have been drastically altered. The pacing is also going to be much different. Remember the story is told from several different viewpoints. Books 4 and 5 basically occur concurrently. They just follow different people. For this season in the show, they many of the newer characters introduced in the books, but they still have more storylines this season than in any of the previous storylines. So the pacing is tough.

Well, that really wasn't a secret. The Boltons as a family have a reputation for being sadistic.

I'm no stranger to slow-burn shows. I love The Americans, Breaking Bad and The Wire. Some episodes of the Wire ended with a requisition form being signed off on and I loved it.

But those shows are slow burning for a reason, they take advantage of the extra time to develop character and such. Game of Thrones has 5 separate plotlines going on at once and yet still feels like nothing is going on. It's cause most of the characters haven't done shit or are only now getting on about doing shit after 5 seasons.

Dany's plotline is a perfect example of the show trying to punctuate a story with "big moments" while not really getting anywhere. This season had her beheading a council member and having her dragons eat someone alive, yet it still feels like Dany at the beginning of the season because those acts don't progress the plot, worldbuilding or her character. It's just wishy washy Dany from season 2 in a bigger pond.

Season's halfway done and what has happened? Stannis, Davos and Red Woman all sat around having interesting conversations with Jon but all moot when the end result is getting off their asses and marching to Winterfell. Cersei and Margery are only now jabbing each other in power plays after 2.5 seasons of big talk. Tyrion is still travelling to Dany, on a boat instead of a crate. The White Walkers probably went back to sleep under the ice instead of invading. And Arya's still fucking training after 5 seasons.

Only interesting development is Sansa, and it was long overdue.

Dany kinda played mindgames like ramsey. She broke dude down while making her decision and then gave him life again. She didn't do it on purpose, but got the same effect.

I would say what type of way is that to begin a relationship, but that's pretty much what a relationship is.

You're kind of missing the point of Dany's storyline. You're right she's not progressing. That is the point. She's stuck. Her desire is to move on to Westeros, but she can't because she feels obligations towards the former slaves and knows that when she leaves, the masters will enslave them again. You said she hasn't done anything, but are kinda ignoring that she'd gone through like three different stances on how to solve the problem and is now about to take a drastic step especially for someone who doesn't actually want to be there. So yeah, her story is progressing.

Stannis' story is also progressing. He saved the Nights Watch. His goal was to recruit John Snow in order to take over the North. He couldn't do that, so he stayed to see if anything else would work out. Him staying is what allowed John to come up with a pan for winning the Wildlings over to his side, and now the Wildlings are possibly allies for Stannis in his war.

Similar explanations can be made for all the characters. Like someone said, you dudes seem not to understand anything but action. It hasn't been an action packed series, but none of the characters showcased so far are in the same position as they were at the start of the season.

Sansa developing isn't even that special or overdue because she's a minor character in the books. They made her character take the place of someone else entirely.
