and personally i dont see anything wrong with preferring flow/delivery, or energy in certain songs or with certain rappers, that doesnt mean i dont like lyricism in certain settings as well. flow/delivery/riding the beat has always been a key for me, if a rapper cant do that, im sure they'd do great with poetry.

It is easy to ride a beat, if the bars are not there. This is fact bruh.

A flow and delivery is meant to be draped over bars. Not the other way around. That is the way the culture has always been. This is Rap we are talking about. Not R&B or Jazz.

Otherwise you get the subpar shit we are getting today. A bunch of half ass rappers, not doing justice to otherwise good beats, or borderline singing throughout the entire cut. I'm done though.

its also easy to ride a beat when bars are there, ask freddie gibbs or cyhi, you can not be able to ride the beat with or with out bars, flow and delivery can enhance bars, and take away from them if its not good imo, the shit that's subpar to me doesnt necessarily come from niggas puttin flow and delivery over bars, hell its not like thats consciously done all the time anyway, sometimes niggas just wanna make an enjoyable song and not necessarily beat niggas over the head with ferocious bars(ludacris-rollout).
