Belize (), formerly British Honduras, is an independent country on the eastern coast of Central America. Belize is bordered on the north by Mexico, on the south and west by Guatemala, and on the east by the Caribbean Sea. Its mainland is about 290 km (180 mi) long and 110 km (68 mi) wide.

Belize has an area of 22,800 square kilometres (8,800 sq mi) and a population of 387,879 (2017). It has the lowest population density in Central America. The country's population growth rate of 1.87% per year (2015) is the second highest in the region and one of the highest in the Western Hemisphere.

Belize's abundance of terrestrial and marine species and its diversity of ecosystems gives it a key place in the globally significant Mesoamerican Biological Corridor.

Belize has a diverse society, composed of many cultures and languages that reflect its rich history. English is the official language of Belize, with Belizean Kriol being the unofficial language. Over half the population is multilingual, with Spanish being the second most common spoken language.

Belize is considered a Central American and Caribbean nation with strong ties to both the Latin American and Caribbean regions. It is a member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), and the Central American Integration System (SICA), the only country to hold full membership in all three regional organisations. Belize is a Commonwealth realm, with Queen Elizabeth II as its monarch and head of state.

Belize is known for its September Celebrations, its extensive barrier reef coral reefs, and punta music.

My mom and pops are from there(belize city), all my family on both sides still there. Was there in '10 and my mom went back again in '14 when my aunt died. Place is nice in some areas(big houses) and poor areas( like any city in the U.S.) During the wet season it rains alot and the mosquitos will fuck you up. You got old belize (cumumber beach) where the will give you a lil history of belize and shit (basic tourist place). You have a major hotel/casino area near the beach(The princess). Nice place says the family. Then you got the tourist place which are near the beaches in other cities cant say much about those places. Ill drop some pics

I'm looking for actual experience, not the Wikipedia page.

Good shit. You don't go often? I hear the flights there are cheap.

I know one cat that actually drives there through Mexico from Vegas. He drives to San Diego to cross the border and makes the 13 hr drive there. Says he has a grip of friends that ended up relocating there.

Chicks are bad! One another note

Some white cat I know said Belize was one of the stops on his cruise and he was able to score some coke by asking one of locals. Yeah don't do that

When is the best time to go ?

Should be the same as Cancun from a weather perspective (it's right next to it). We're going around December. It looks my oldest sister is on board to go as well but her ass might end packing up and moving there. Wouldn't blame her though, she's got three sons and living just outside of Detroit.

Belize is beautiful and an it's inexpensive alternative to going to the islands. Even though it's Central America most of Belize speaks English so if your Spanish is not up to par you'll still be good and won't feel lost. A lot Belizien women are fine IMO. They tend to dig me more when I tell them I'm Guatemalan.

We're looking to stay in Corozal district somewhere. It's right next to the Mexican border and the pyramids at Dzibanche are extremely close and the pyramids at Chichen Itza are only a couple of hours away; that's one of the spots we're looking at checking out 'cause, for some reason, we've never gone there despite going to Cancun numerous times. If this trip goes well we're prolly going further inland next time around, possibly hittin Guatemala to peep out Tikal, Zaculeo, or Yaxha.

The missus and I have brought up possibly slipping away to Cancun for a day trip since the kids will be with the MIL back at the hotel. We haven't been in a while and it's only about a 4hr drive from Corozal.
