He is a soldier. Soldiers dont betray their country no matter what. Soldiers dont dive in politics. Thats why being a soldier is so special.
Snowden knows it. So he must pay to his fuckery.
A.Q.A.

And never follow orders blindly...simply bc its what's expected of you
The result of his action is weakening the alredy weakened diplomatic impact of his country. He signed up for this. When you serve your flag you are not an individual anymore, you become your country.
Yeah its a hard dilemma sometimes. Some of the german generals werent agreeing with the NAZI ideology. Yet they did their job, fighting for their country i.e Jodel.
lol @ snowden hurting america's diplomacy image and not the fact that they started a war over a lie or how they love to invade countries/start wars hurting their image, are y'all serious?
You as a canadian can criticize the US. Snowden ,by being a soldier, chose to SERVE and DIE for the US interests.
That s the main difference.
serving your country i believe includes saving it from itself. tyranny unchecked is still tryanny. if someone like him who actually knew what was going on does not stand up for what is right or to say this is wrong, then who will ever do that?
i don't like this attitude in america that if you criticize it in anyway you're unpatriotic all of a sudden. this country is going to hell in a handbasket because of jingoism
Its up to you CITIZENS to act and react not soldiers whatever their rank is. Its a universal military value. Snowden was a soldier not a civilian.
By the way who wasnt aware that our devices were checked?
oh so it isnt the military's job to protect its own people?
Fuck kind of logic is that

He opend his mouth. So what in the end? We are and will still be under surveillance.

He wasn't a solider first of all, he was an intelligence contractor and even if he was a soldier, his allegiance is to the citizens and the constitution both of which are under attack, not anyone in the government or the government itself.
Second he never gave the information to American enemies, he made information available to our media. It's one thing to sell information for profit like double agent spies it's another to tell the media for no profit to yourself.
The Patriot Act
The Patriot Act is a U.S. antiterrorism law that was passed in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks. Generally, the law is designed to enhance the powers of state and federal law enforcement agencies when dealing with terrorists. The act has 10 titles in all.
Title I of the Patriot Act establishes, among other things, federal funding for antiterrorism investigation and security, authorization for the creation of an electronic crime task force, presidential authority to confiscate the property of foreigners who have engaged in war with the United States, and the possibility of presenting this confiscated property as secret evidence in court.
Title II explains what law enforcement agencies are allowed to do to obtain information related to possible terror threats and terrorists' activities. This section establishes several new options for agents in pursuit of suspected terrorists:
Investigators may employ "roving surveillance," which means that a suspect's phone (or other communication) can be tapped wherever he or she is. Previous laws required a separate warrant for each line and location.
Law enforcement agencies can share any intercepted information with federal authorities if it pertains to possible terrorist threats.
Communication service providers (such as Internet service providers) can be required to provide the government with information about customers' activities.
Homes or other premises may be searched without the suspect's knowledge or presence, with the search warrant can be presented after the fact.
Each of these sections of the Patriot Act focuses on a particular topic:
Title III has provisions to limit money laundering and funding of terrorist organizations.
Title IV strengthens border security and allows the government to ban or monitor certain foreigners.
Title V makes National Security Letters (NSL), which demand the release of paperwork and information about a suspect, much more potent.
Title VI offers compensation to terror victims and their families.
Title VII outlines the necessary funding and authorization for different law enforcement agencies to share information.
Title VIII adds mass transit attacks, computer hacking and other acts to the list of crimes that are considered terrorism.
Title IX outlines how government agencies will share information.
Title X contains the remaining miscellaneous issues of the act.

His task was to work and SHUT THE FUCK UP. Media is a weapon bruh sad you re not aware of it.
@sanchez its easy to sit at home and criticize those who die and get wounded for you to be safe. Also that children shooting argument to raise feelings has no effect on me.
As i said its a dilemma to serve in the military and secret services. Its not an easy job. However, leaking infos is a no go.
