Ight, that was no near vicious as what Wayne said.

@Chicity

You fouled, bruh.

It was not nor was it meant to be.

My point was, here is a lyric by a established artist (@ the time) that not no buzz. Nobody acknowledged the parallel.

No spokeperson from the TIll family reached out and said "Thanks Game for keeping the memory of our family alive."

No little kids was running around spitting this lyric. Shit went relatively unnoticed.

Damn near every one of y'all that are offended are saying the same shit, young black kids should know who Emmett Till is but the reality is they don't or @ least they didn't. Our reaction to the lyrics made that possible. Kids, ain't listening to you, they not listening to me, they not listening to they parents or teachers or ppl of authority, they listening to Wayne and how others react to Wayne.

Regardless of the original message behind the lyric, guess what, Emmett Till is being talked about again. Kids are researching who he is, because again they weren't aware who he was before, place the blame on whoever u may.

The lyric *and mind you not the first lyric of Emmett Till by Lil Wayne* brought Emmett Till to life and the reaction for the lyric made it positive because @ the end of the day, his fans are searching for why the lyric had such a backlash, why he got dropped from endorsements, why old heads are spitting on Wayne in the media.

That's all I'm saying

Basically people focus on the negative more than positive, right?

Gotcha but still people catch feelings over this.

How would you feel if people made fun of slavery?

I don't feel like slavery has left the American mind even tho those who were involved, influenced, and devastated by it has all but been forgotten

Slavery is very general and can be referencing almost in time in human history. Hard to be upset by it if someone makes fun of it.

Now you make fun of say Nat Turner, you downplay his life and his contributions our history and I'd probably laugh @ you in your face. If even one person asks what the commotion is about and is willing to learn about Nat then while the intent of the jk was one thing, the reality is it has now become a teaching tool

the ends justify the means in this case.

Goes to show you, we are not educating the New Generation on black history besides slavery and civil rights. So I can't get too mad at them for not knowing when they weren't taught. Smh@ Future damage control spin, that's why I don't see the point in covering urban artists sometimes because some of them don't have nothing to say of importance.

so yall are denying the blatant fact that this disrespectful line brought light to emmett till

some ppl are just in complete denial, idk y. i dont even like Wayne

I think ya dislike for Wayne causes u to only focus on the negative intent the line stems from and not acknowledge the positive work it has done.

Yes, the line was disrespectful

Yes, it's good the family spoke out about his weak ass apology

Yes, Dew should have dropped and so should Pepsi

but also

Yes, I believe his fans have researched Emmett Till

Yes, Emmett Till memory has be brought to the forefront of those that might have forgotten him

Yes, it forces those of us who are parents to ensure we teach our past to our children so that they don't have to learn it in a cheesy punch line

Beating up ya block, yeah I get my Emmett Till on-Lil Wayne, 'It's Me Bitches remix," mid 07.

Where was the outrage then?

@KingJamal

I understand why Black folks are racist.

Why did you wack me?

Feelings were caught.

I'm not making fun of ya

c'mon man stop it.. these youth get there "news" from worldstarhiphop.... this is the feeling generation.. the most disconnected generation.. yet claim this remains on in consciousness.. and is a positive step in something tangible..

@Playmaker88

So fuck any format that could be used to reach them then?

Throw ya hands up and preach on what 'should' be happening instead of what the reality is?

Focus our energy on who? The child of those we chose to leave behind because we didn't like the way they accepted information?

Or beat them until they learn? Jail them perhaps until they convert to Islam? Force them to sit in a school that focuses more on head count and the ability to repeat everything you learned @ the beginning of the semester?

are you denying.. that a good portion of the youth..don't have a microwave mentality.. .. are you implying that kids take this as information... and are nourished by the ingestion of the shit they see on worldstarhiphop whatever it maybe.. the "interest" in these oh so knowledge thristy "yutes" will dissipate when the next nigga has a seziure... Maybe im wrong maybe Emmett till is the topic of discussion on street corners/barbershops.. classrooms... parks..

I'm not denying that, I'm merely saying that the topic has now been broached and who know what they will retain now or recall later.

Emmett Till name is once again the topic of discussion, which can only be a good thing.

Hell I hope someone writes something stupid about WEB Dubois just so that country could cause an uproar. The youth seem to listen to uproars, if only for a short period of time

Can you imagine Jews defending a jew rapper for saying some foul shit referencing Anne Frank? Or better yet can find ANY jew who doesnt know who Anne Frank is? Of course the fuck not. But it's only Black Americans who will jump at a chance to somehow defend some fuck shyt like this. Only niggas who are willingly ignorant of their history.

Blacks losing again.
