None of those shows were funny except Everybody Hates Chris though. TBMS was bland and boring as hell.

my wife and kids was funny as fuck and i admit i didn't appreciate EHC until it ended, underrated black show

some of these networks (Fox) built their empires off the backs of some of these black shows. Roc, True Colors, In Living Color, Living Single, Martin, etc were old Fox shows in that networks infancy when they were struggling to make it. If African Americans watched the show, they could slowly dwindle down the number of shows, then when that money rolled in from the ratings, switch the entire game up and kill them all off and replace them with white shows and other shows that draw equal or less ratings and call them successful.

UPN/WB/CW used the same methodology to get their network off the ground, using black shows then kill them all off, claiming low ratings, for shows like The Mullets, Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, and One Tree Hill and all those other white shows, that probably get the same rating. I remember a show featuring Taye Diggs named Kevin Hill that critics loved but the network claimed that it wasn't drawing enough and canceled it midseason after moving it into timeslots where it would fail. But in actuality, it was a show about a black man having to watch over a white baby and raise it due to the baby's mother dying or something to that effect. Of course, the network was appalled by this turn of events and started fucking with the show's timeslot and pre-empting it so it would draw low ratings and people forget about it.

Homeboys from Outer Space is said to be the fall of the black sitcom.
