Honestly? It kinda is.
If you a Doctor, you learn about the accomplishments of previous doctors who innovated and created before you.
Athlete? You study the tapes and games of those who reached championships before you.
No one said he gotta know their shit back and forth, but for him to not be able drop at least a line is some weak shit, especially when he's next door to them.
It's not a requirement I rap but I don't bump Jay unless it's his mainstream music
Ion bump nas period
Never heard nun of there albums fully
Ion bump T.I no more
Ion bump jeezy no more
Ive never heard a KRS-One song
I bump 2pac but only bump biggies mainstream music
I really don't bump mainstream rappers period
Don't listen to radio
I get all my music from online site like datpiff or livemixtapes
Really only bump lito, Kevin gates, don trip, Migos, outkast, j.cole, asap rocky and ferg, Drake, Kendrick, common, Lupe... Etc the point I'm making is people like what they like there's no guidelines or rules abt certain artist u must listen to

I have no opinions on your tastes of music. Most of the artists you named are dope to me. But
aren't Outkast, J. Cole, Asap Rocky, Drake, Kendrick, Common, and Lupe mainstream rappers?

Don't like thoughtful rap? u must have hit your head real hard substance and emotion and a message are what i look for in hip-hop and are essential to me
And these are my fave hip-hop artists who have substance, emotion and are deep and give u a personal message
Eminem
Z-Ro
B.o.B
Kid Cudi
DMX
Devin The Dude
Max B
Bone Thugs
Wiz Khalifa
50 Cent
Everyone that knows me since i been here knows emotion and substance are what i'm associated for loving in hip-hop
It's about execution and song writing to me though an Eminem, a Z-Ro, a Kid Cudi a Devin The Dude exuctes the substance and messge in an entertaining, interesting, catchy and engaging way where as a Nas or a Jay Electronica or a Royce or a Brand Nubian executes it in a really boring, dull, bland and unintersting way
I like substance and thoughtful hip-hop from rappers that are great song writers to put it in a nut shell

You literally spew the same rhetoric in every fuckin thread.
Since when was wiz khalifa, 50Cent and max b considered artist with substance?
You don't speak for everyone in the UK, so you don't know what the fuck everyone is listening to over there.
You hell bent on trying to discredit Jay & Nas. But I bet you when it's all said and done there music will go down in history. 20 years from now we'll still be talking about illmatic, it was written, the lost tapes, stillmatic, Reasonable Doubt, the blueprint, the black album, and American Gangster.
Your Caucasian God will only be a mere footnote. In five more years nobody's gonna give a fuck about eminem. Just you.
