I'm not blaming prosecutors or America for women not reporting rape. Rape is a very awful, personal, humiliating experience. At the same time, there is definitely shame associated with this crime, toward the victim. There are many many reasons women do not report rape. But let's not even talk about that 68% because as you said that's no one's fault.
But let's talk about the 32%. So out of the 32% of rapes that allegedly occurred and are reported, only 7% of those are even referred to a prosecutor. Is it your opinion that the rapes that do not get referred to the prosecutor are false claims?
Some of them are false claims. Some of them are simply not legitimate cases of rape (i.e. a girl gets drunk, has consensual sex, and then says she was raped because she can't remember consenting). Some of those claims are simply unverifiable (i.e. the girl says one thing, the guy says another, there is nothing to distinguish who is telling the truth). The fact is no one knows how many of those claims are actual rapes, and that's why that graphic is disingenuous.

Why did this turn into satistics from feminists about rape? So the statistic that out of 32% of rapes that allegedly occurred, only 2% of those rapes end in a conviction, is that a false statistic?
What is it about rape that makes some people so nitpicky and wanting to shit on the victims? I don't get it at all. I didn't say anything about rape culture. I believe that insensitivity towards this subject is definitely wide spread on this site. That is one thing I will definitely say. It's a little bit ironic that you say it's just not true that people don't care about the victims of rape when it seems that at every turn, someone is telling me how women are lying about rape and it's their fault that rapists aren't brought to Justice.
I just hate that graphic because it's obvious bullshit. If you were trying to make a point that I missed in my need to refute the graphic, I apologize. However, the fact that you think what I was saying was nitpicky is telling. The problem with you rape crusaders is that in standing up for victims, who do deserve your support, you're willing to bowl over due process and common sense in turn creating other victims. People who get falsely or inaccurately accused of rape have their lives ruined, but you guys seem to think that's ok as long as rape gets "taken seriously." The problem is that it was never really the case that rape wasn't taken seriously. Rape is just a hard crime to prosecute. You can't fix that problem treating every person that is accused of rape as someone who has already been convicted of rape.
I also think you misunderstand the other side's point. It's not that I or anyone else is telling you that every woman who says she was raped is lying. We just point out that there are women who do lie about it, and since those women exist, you can't just take for granted that everyone who says they were raped were in fact raped.
I have already stated multiple times that rape is a hard crime to prosecute. I've been told that rape is cut and dry. I'm also not a rape Crusader I don't even know what that means. I'm not an activist, I don't go around looking for men to convict. I'm 100% aware that women lie about getting raped. I happen to believe it's on a much smaller scale than a lot of others have stated. I said about 8%, but the truth is that you nor I will ever know how many people lied about getting raped. In my personal experience in life, just about every woman that I've ever had a close friendship to or am related to has either been raped or molested. So I tend to believe that it does happen to a lot of women. I do know what it looks like to tell the truth about getting raped.
I also do not pretend to be a prosecutor, so I'm not saying what they need to do in order to convict a rapist. I do not think that the legal system should only take woman's word for it. The only thing I have ever stated on this web site is that for me personally, I take the victims word. That is simply because rape is a disgusting crime, and I'd rather not be the person on the end of the spectrum making a true victim feel worthless and alone, on top of already have been raped. To have someone violate your body at the most personal level and then to be treated like you're a liar or it's your fault on top of it. I don't do that and I will never do that. Why should I? If you need more evidence for your opinion that is perfectly fine. I have never ever said that someone should get locked up based on someone's word alone. I don't believe that.
If someone tells me they were raped, I'm not going to say "where is your evidence". If that's what you would say that's your business and I would feel sorry for whatever victim you are talking to. I'm not calling for a major overhaul of the Department of Justice and calling for every single man who's ever been accused of rape to go to jail because somebody said it. All I am saying is that if a woman says to me she was violated I'm going to believe what she says until I have a reason not to. But that is for my opinion strictly.
That doesn't mean I think the alleged perpetrators should go to jail without evidence. I'm not Prosecuting anyone and I don't know why anyone has a problem with that.
