I remember hearing about this a while back.

Couldn't understand how a 15yr old juvenile could get a longer sentence than the 18yr old adults he was with.

I mean, I understand it, but don't understand how it was allowed to happen.

From what I can remember, the 18yr olds took plea deals and blamed everything on the 15yr old.

Which doesn't make sense because it seems like they should've been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Also, I don't know if the 15yr old was even allowed to plead guilty after that.........or even had competent legal counsel to advise him.

If he decided to go to trial, it's obviously a dumb decision if you know you're guilty........but the kid's too young to know any better.

I know people always get longer sentences when they go to trial instead of taking a plea, but 118 years is too much of a disparity.

Seemed like a punishment for not taking a plea more than anything.
