You gotta understand in the bay area are full of people doing X, heron, crack and coke. They also take pride in raping women in Oakland. Thats why you see those weirdos like E-40, Mac Dre, Lil B, Keak Da Sneak and so on.

ok

i get it

he was felt more for his actions and character

ok then

it was more of a character thing,

for example you'd find some niggaz who may have thought ol dirty bastard was one of the wackest niggaz to ever touch a mic, then in some spots he might be respected as that raw rugged nigga who brought that element to wu-tang that was needed, some people would never understand that.

dre was respected for who he was and what he did on the mic because he did it the way he wanted to do it, and he was totally original.

his impact for the bay area makes him a legend...over there...every where else, he's just another dead nigga who never fully got to any real prominence other than a BET "american gangster" special

you automatically go up the legend charts when u die for some reason

That's hip hop for you. Any rap nigga (nobody niggas and famous niggas alike) that get's bodied, is a legend, the G.O.A.T., The King of (insert theme), and every rap nigga that gets a cell (innocent, or not) gets a "Free (insert rapper name)" campaign. Shit is sickening, considering how "real" everyone is supposed to be, yet we all stretch the truth when dealing with a deceased rappers legacy, or who should be doing the time for the crime they commited.

R.I.P. Mac Dre

you can feel how you feel about the Mac named Dre, I or nobody else can change your opinion on that.

to me Mac Dre was a solid nigga, on and off the mic, BaY Area crestside to the fullest, he spit a lot of game, not the lyrical type rapper, more of a game spitter.

he has some silly songs, some shit to laugh at, but he can get on some gangsta shit, some introspective social shit, he was a versatile rapper.

Mac Dre's opinion alone over a track would 9 times outta 10 be some shit you can agree with.

as to why he's a legend, i can't make you feel like he's a legend, me personally he is a legend he always came with something that you can ride to, he may not be your taste but it's plenty of well respected rappers who aren't for everybody.
Co-sign 1 hunnid.

He is our Legend, a West Coast legend, been in the game independent making music starting movements, trends and whatever since as far back as I can remember.

R.I.P. the Thizz King.

Forgive my hasty first response Im multi-tasking watching Tiger

Mac Dre has West-Coast legendary credentials....

Check Game.

Undisputed Underground King of the bay

Helped birth the Hyphy movement damn near

Career-span (1989-2004)- 15 years

Solo albums- 14 albums

Mixtapes/Callobos- 10+

Certified hood anthems ("To hard 4 the fuccin radio", "Thizz dance", "Boss Tycoon")- 3

Slanguage dictionary definitions 10+

Started the Thizz movement that swept the whole West-coast from Dago to Seattle, everybody was off X...blue dolphin, Polo's, LV's, red-devils....mad influential.

Its a culture thang if you familiar with west-coast pimpin, hustlin, and just being up on game Mac Dre was that dude, party animal, fun-loving larger-than-life character.

People on the West-Coast dont dispute if LiL Keke is a Southern legend if Kool G. Rap is a east-coast legend or if Twista is a midwest legend...sometimes a regional legend can exist without nationwide acceptance or recognition.
