As a whole, we shouldn't care what white people think about issues pertaining to our community. We (black people) should stop doing interviews with white media outlets explaining our point of views and asking for sympathy and change.

Silence is golden. Shut them out of our conversations because they only misconstrue our messages anyway.

We have to stop asking for change and start demanding it.

Imagine if all black people stayed home for a week , no work, no shopping, and no messages on social media....a true blackout.

The white world and media would become very nervous and concerned about that show of strength and unity.

But this would never happen because we've never truely been united. We've been trained well to be selfish individuals. Too many coons and naysayers in our own community slow our progression.

If we showed true unity and displayed the real power black people hold, then we could regain the respect we lost around the World while causing real change here at home.

I can agree with some sentiments here in general

Black people and communities need to .. Collect wealth and spread it amongst our own and only our own...

By raising the minimum wage to $15/hr, right?

??? I'm not following.

Many vehemently claim this is a solution to the problems our lower class faces.

Ironic, because it encourages behaviors that are in direct opposition to those that would "build wealth" within our community

That's assuming most black folks are in minimum wage positions

Lol everyone who stayed home for a week would be fired, and the business-minded people would short every company stock that we're large consumers of. No progress at all.

A lot of y'all ideas sound absolutely ridiculous in theory, and are not logical in the least. That's why it's better for you and the people who agree with you to simply act out and prove to us it works, or prove it doesn't work.

Don't talk about it, be about it.

The individual must decide what he is going to do first. Then the individuals who are like minded must come together and protect the interests of themselves and produce more like minded individuals from outsiders, and crab in the bucket type niggas. This will in turn produce more........ Rinse and repeat. I spoke of a guy I met who lives in a pretty well known suburb around here and how he and the other blacks came together within the community without knowing each other. It wasn't planned, it just kind of happened. It's because this type of attitude breeds, and grows.

Handle your business and keep people around you who handle there's with their basic integrities in mind(be an individual, but don't be a fuckin coon, remember who you are) and build with them. You can't be responsible for carryin people who don't want to move the same way you do, and this ain't no muthafuckin utopia. Grown people gotta be responsible for themselves. White people ain't all rich and powerful, they got ghettos too. But they have sects, pockets of people who wield power, why can't we?

Marchin don't work long term, violence don't work long term, and complaining never works. Learn the parts, learn how they move, get into position to move them in your favor. Money and power/influence will take you a long way. In essence, it's chess, not checkers.

We probably won't see the type of change we want in our lifetime. But if we use the basic building blocks of individualism where each block is as strong, or can at least carry it's own weight with the next, and then we bring together each of these households. In time we can build a very strong foundation and move on to greater things. We saw the power of this with the 08 election where many of our "exceptional" parts moved in concert to make something happen.

Marching and chanting is somewhat of an outdated method. It cannot stand on its own in 2015. Still a useful tool though. Nothing will be given to us, not even respect, we must take it. It starts with US.

Start with trusting family and friends beyond as far as you can see them

What this man said is a start towards a real solution. Start a movement with the people you trust and who trust you the most, and branch out when you have a proven product/movement.

We need tangible results. Niggas are not going to follow no theoretical bullshit that has high risk. How about YOU take the risk of your own idea and prove it works, and the people who agree will jump on board.

It's the same model that's used when a startup is looking for investors. I'm not investing in your shit until you empty your pockets and invest in yourself, AND prove to me that's it a viable product. Only then will I give you my support.

You have to EARN trust and respect from strangers. I'm not riding with some random nigga because he has a similar skin tone to myself. There are plenty of black devils and moles out there that are no better than the enemy.

Stop explaining ourselves to them, stop apologizing to them, and begin working solely on ourselves. Too much energy is wasted on hoping one day white people will wake up and realize the effects of white supremacy and their insane hypocrisy. Stop trying to change these muthafuckas hearts, acting like American History X is based on a true story. Fuck em. We also must stop being so goddamn forgiving.

I'm pessimistic about race, but what if it were based on a true story? Or rather, why couldn't it be based on a true story? I am sure stuff like that has happened. The important point is that doesn't change the grand scheme of things. So there is no reason to not acknowledge that individual whites can be reached.

In general, most of these negros are just confused.

If y'all really took seriously the possibility that whites (as a whole) won't ever change enough (they can be changed some), then y'all wouldn't be saying some of the things that y'all say. What I mean is that if you did think that, the focus would have to shift to what we can be doing to improve ourselves, and not on criticizing whites and their racism and double standards.

This means that we should take care that the music our young people listen to does not do them more harm than good, for example. Whether whites unfairly single out hip hop for criticism is beside the point; our first concern should be to improve ourselves, not trying to change whites. But many of you clowns actually think that this is coonish. Which just goes to show what I said, that y'all are confused.

After trusting our family and friends first, second we need to learn how to approach people verbally and watch what and how we say things

Yes our people are confused, to no fault of their own, but we don't need you captain obvious to point out our faults, it doesn't help or make us feel good, you have faults as well that you need to address @"A Talented One"

But for those of us who are aware , we need to set examples of how to do things, and those who want to follow suit , will.

There is no blueprint on how to attain complete freedom and many people have and will attain it using different methods

All I have to say is that a change has to come within, and not from outside

Trying to "reach" racist whites is a complete waste of our time and energy.

By product of what we call the civil rights movement where people were getting spit on beat and still pleading with the white man to live in the white world.

Shit killed black pride, and every "black pride movement" since has had segregation as a part of its mission.

Exactly. ..the point of the thread is YOU can't reason with them. Its better to cut all ties with them @"A Talented One"

Hip hop is just an example, and what I mean is this:

If someone says, "You know, I think hip hop may be harming us more than helping us," the absolutely worst response is: "But heavy metal influences white kids to do bad things too, but you don't see whites criticizing heavy metal."

Saying that means that you subscribe to the school of thought that says if we criticize whites and their racism and double standards enough, or more effectively, then they will change.

If, on the other hand, you take their racism as given, then your focus must perforce shift to what we are doing. That is, your focus must shift to doing what we can to improve ourselves. In the case of this example, this would mean responding something like this (if you are skeptical about the claim that hip hop may do more harm than good): "I'm not so sure that hip hop really does that my brother, but why do you think that? Have any studies been done? etc."

Again, hip hop is just an example.

Hope this makes it clearer.
