the love below was a jazz/experimental music album

i cant agree

What about the concept of a wildly successful rapper going in a completely different direction (different genre) than his previous projects?

Drake owes his entire sound and career to The Love Below and 808s

thats why i laugh when this nigga talks about a style he 'created' like it wasnt that Say You Will freestyle that made niggas wanna check for So Far Gone

so everybody's gonna forget q-tip's kamaal the abstract, common's electric circus, and dre 3k's the love below? those albums were just as(if not more) instrumental in shaping the alternative rap scene just as much as ye's albums. even though, aside from the love below, they wrent very popular during their release
I'd say those albums influenced Ye, who in turn influenced the rap game as a whole.

this..

nothing about kanye is original

he made it ok to be a faggot in hiphop the last decade.. guess he birthed the faggotry
so I guess you should thank him for giving you the ability to be an openly gay guy. if this was the 90's you'd either get beat for being openly gay or have to hide your shit....mr cee. you might hate kanye because musically he's better than the g-unit/shady team you dickride but at least be thankful that he gave you the opportunity to stare at 50 cent with no shirt on and not be judged by your home boys

point being it wasnt his. His entire catalogue since has changed to recreate what he heard on 808s. those filtered synths and muted snares are add ons. That song is what opened most people eyes to Drake to even check for So Far Gone which leads to Successful, Best I Ever Had, Houstalantavegas etc etc
The greater point im makin is the mere fact Drake chose that song to be his most passionate and kill the best speaks to how much 808s influences him. which 2 years and 757 depressing half ballads later makes complete sense. i could make the arguement that Drake has been chasing songs like Say You Will and Coldest Winter since he went mainstream.
