Man that was some sad shit smh..Lol

For those folks who can't see it..

You're at your job Thanksgiving funtion...or at an office party...room full of whites 30-60 ppl, age range 2-71 years old, you and another black person are there from the department, Yall the only 2 blacks...Two white ppl come up to the both of yall, state to you and your partner that they have some music and they want you both to come up to the front of the crowd and buck-dance or better yet, teach them how to Wobble show them how to do X, Y, Z dance.

Are you doing it?

If so, Lol at your corny sambo ass...

Nobody at my job would come and ask me a question like that.. Because I do not carry myself or have the type of relationship with coworkers to where they would even feel comfortable coming at me like that..

Let me make this clear, what I'm saying is not the correct answer, just my opinion about shucking and jiving for white ppl.

But the part where I bold, why do they have feel comfortable in asking you to show them and the other 30-50 white ppl in my example how to do the Wobble or tell do the latest dance out? it's just a dance eh, no harm right?

I never said it was just a dance.. What I am saying is Desiigner is a performer.. That is what he does.. I however am not.. So asking me to perform just cuz I'm black like Desiigner would not fly with me.

Thats like asking a white guy if I can body slam him cuz he is a white guy like Triple H.. Or Steve Austin..

I just find it ironic that the people with the loudest opinions if you shine a light into their affairs they are lacking some where.. All these fake black intellectuals can eat a dick. Be the same nigga talkin shit if a kid like Desiigner ended up doing what Society was set up for him to do.. Same ones talkin about the cats in Chicago but aint trying to give no opportunity.. Just sit at home on a webcam talking shit.. Newsflash your opinions are worth nothing in the real world.. People are out here trying to feed themselves and their loved ones... Fuck outta here..

People talked all that shit about the Shmurdas but where were those people when them dudes got indicted.. Right... I rather see Shmurda dancing on the table than locked up 100 times out of 100..

Saying Bobby Shmurda looked stupid dancing on a table doesn't mean you were required to help him out with bail money or a lawyer...those two things have nothing to do with each other. You can perform your music without looking like an idiot...

No.. People did not say he looked stupid.. People called him a Coon.. There is a difference..

My point still stands.. I'd rather see him dancing on a table.. Than in the streets doing street shit that will either have him end up dead or in jail.

To me people seem to harbor animosity toward rappers that is unwarranted. Whatever folks are mad at they need to let it go.. These dudes are out here trying to make a way for themselves the best way they know how.. If they knew better thats different.. But most of them simply don't.. Designer and Shmurda when these videos were shot were both still teenagers..

You know nowadays when the word coon is used it's being misused so I wouldn't even bother to take that seriously. On the one hand you are right...them making music is far better than running the streets but that don't mean they're music and performances are above criticism simply because they're trying to do something legal to make money. So again you can be happy they're trying to do something positive, though one could argue in Bobby's case making a hit song that pretty much laid out your crews body count and put you and your set of Crips in jail ain't all that positive, is a good thing while still saying he didn't need to be hopping on a damn table.

You point about 'Hot Nigga' is somewhat valid I say somewhat because they were under investigation long before that song was made.. Somewhat valid nevertheless..

I guess I haven't been clear in my stance.. Allow me to try to articulate my point better.. The thing that is urking me is that.. There seems to be a undertone of elitism.. If you can even call it that. When people make these types of videos.. The tone is off putting to me.. People out here telling the youth what they need to be doing etc but if a light was shined on their lives especially as teenagers you'd find that it looked very funny.. Like wtf is this Tariq nigga? What is his claim to fame? What gives him the right to talk down on folks in such manner?.. Like he's better than someone..

Both Desiigner and Bobby gave a performance in a room filled with white people.. The only difference is that it was a room instead of in an arena.. The performance is the exact same whether it be at MSG or in that room.. But people want to call them coons because of the context..

At the end of the day again.. My point still stands.. These cats are making a way for themselves the best way they know how.. And they shouldn't be put down for it.. I rather see em doing this.. than the alternative.. All the other shit these people talkin about is irrelevent they got opinions on everything..

I get your point completely, I just don't agree with the part about just because they're not out running the streets means that they're somehow above being criticized still. I'm not putting them down for it in the sense that I don't think they should be making music or trying to sell their music. It's a criticism of just that moment itself of that performance. And performing in boar room is different than an arena full of people

I guess we can agree to disagree.. I can see how one would find performing in a board room to be cringe worthy.. I think if it was a room full of blacks and they asked him to kick a freestyle it wouldn't have been an issue..

Those white people didn't even know who the fuck he was, or what he was rapping about. You think they gave a fuck about a verse? Rapping wasn't even the reason for being there, then you hear/see 2 white people talking about "You think he will do a verse"? For what, why? So y'all can pretend to act like y'all understand or that you like it? Maybe so y'all can laugh at him? I saw both in the video.

There's a thin line between knowing your history and being obsessed with it. I'm not saying act like the past didn't happen, but I am saying there's so much forward mobility out there, why even address these things?

Muthafucka out chere with the cape on waay too tight for this mumble mouth coon ass muthafucka. Let me ask you something. I'm sure they could have used the publicity and would have liked to reach another audience, so why didn't the CAC racist fashion bitch reach out to Cole, Kendrick, or Killer Mike? Because the bitch knew she would have gotten thoroughly clowned or the those white muthafuckas would have gotten thoroughly clowned.

Understood.. My point is.. That is how he performs every time he performs. He had a similar performance at hot 97 before he blew up...

I'm more disgusted at this nigga being considered a rapper. Like I said in the other thread, this nigga rap like theTazmania devil off looney tunes. Ain't no way he need to be on the mic.

Is there really a difference between doing this in front of a hand full of white folks and 10-20 thousand paying white folks? I'm sure Vogue cut the check just for him modeling I guess. The boy fresh outta hs and he seems slightly touched, this is diet cooning at best..

That shmurda shit iono tho. Didn't he already have a deal when decided to buss a jig on the table?

You do realize that you've proven my point right? What you're referencing is a very specific characterization. It was never used to describe just any black person that behaved stupidly from time to time. It was specific caricature used by whites to disparage blacks and it had a defined list of traits. You can't just bold the one that fits what you want and ignore the rest. The point is coons as they were depicted had all of those traits.

Now Desiigner's act is buffoonish. He's inarticulate. But is he lazy, easily frightened, chronically idle? From what I've seen, no. More importantly, is he being used by whites specifically to bring down the whole black community or is he just out there representing himself poorly hoping for a payday? It kills me. Black people are always bitching about how whites treat us as a monolith and try to make every black person responsible for the actions of every other black person. But ya'll turn around and do the same shit.

the psychological aspect of white supremacy means ppl will attempt to subjugate us in spite of, because of, or while taking credit for, our upward mobility. its why black ppl on local news went viral, why kanye mightve thought he was doing a nice thing and then someone turned a camera on, why the music industry courts inner city talent, etc., etc., etc.

Judging by the thread title... I was expecting some "pure rage cooning" like him enjoying the f*ck out of

a watermelon as it spills out of his mouth and white people throwing peanuts at em or something.

I didn't see that here. I did see some little lightweight cringe tho. But thats because I was wondering if he was gonna break a note of something.
