Oh god not Whitney Houston

Death doesn't mean you get the honorable award...

Yall need to cut that out with that Whitney Houston shit for real

If that's the case...you better drop Nina Simone's name player

Back to the thread tho...I came to express my undying love for Erykah Badu

She's beautiful, intelligent and a helluva artist...I love her joints

Me and my ex use to debate Jill vs Erykah all dat time, she nice , but i think Badu got her. LOL @ whitney. Her voice was crazy ,but im talkin overall. Erykah Badu writes, produces, and sings her shit. There's only a few Ill put up there. Sade is one of em.

"Didn't cha' know" has gotten played consistently for years now. I love alot of her shit but that song is definitely my favorite. It kind of sets a mood.

Coachella 2011 ...... was front row at this shit .... first time seeing her and needless to say i was blown .... she hopped on the drum machine and started making beats live .... shit was needless to say the things GOATS are made of.... soooooo sooo dope

if i remember correctly her set was proceeded by wiz khalifa "before he blew up" then followed by Nas & Damian Marley and closed out by Lauryn Hill

One of the best experiences of my life B.... and for that i thank and appreciate the lovely "Fat Belly Bella"

Erykah Badu is my FAV female of all time. im very aware wat soul legends like Gladys Knight, Nina Simone, Sade, Aretha Franklin, Roberta Flack, etc. did in thier hayday but Erykah is my generation and im proud to say she is my fav of all time.

Mary J might have the sales, impact, and consistancy but i gravitate to Erykah more because her music isnt just for "females who are going thru relationship woes".

Lauryn Hill gave us GREAT material but not nearly enough.

Alicia Keys was dope on her first two albums and looked like she way on her way to GOAT status (still a legend tho) but somewhere around "No One" she lost her steam creatively.

Beyonce is the best entertainer this generation but musically she is not even Top 5.

Keyshia Cole is good for singles, albums are ok but never classic.

Jill Scott is also a legend but i never really got into her albums like dat.
