C'mon.

Puffy had 1997 on lock. Everything he touched was a #1 hit. Thats exactly what Rakim needed. Not those backpacker beats that he ended up with.

Just think of what Puff did for Biggie. He could have done the same thing with Rakim.

Yo, u really wanted to hear Rakim over those beats? Couldve worked, but glad you wasnt the A&R on that album...lol...Dude was able to have some commercial success sticking to what he wanted to do...

This woulda been all the rage 20 years ago

Yeah I remember the hype for the 18th Letter album, but somebody dropped the ball. Puff Daddy should have produced 2 or 3 tracks on that album.

That album was dope as fuck and well received back then. It went gold (which was still a credible certification in 1997) and everything. I don't know what you're talking about. The Master on the other hand...

The 18th Letter was 3.5 mics IMO. It was too "keep it real" while Puff, Biggie and Ma$e were burning up the airwaves and shutting down nightclubs. The 18th Letter didn't have any club bangers... or radio singles.

As far as The Master is concerned, I only liked the two Premiere tracks.

the Master is one my my guilty pleasures , album knocks to me.
