i THINK YOUR GENERALIZING WAY TOO MUCH.
I know many that study ancient civilizations and writings..
You make the same mistake and faulty assumptions most fresh out the woods scholars make. That people some how choose to ignore that which came before them. Not the people I associate with. In fact, I live in America and I doubt you can find any group of people who dig beyond their faith traditions more than African American Muslims, Conscious Christians and to some extent Hebrews. Malcolm X used to talk about ancient civilizations all the time. My first time hearing of the Essenes were through him.
But like all things, just because something predated something doesn't make it more valid or superior.
BTW, prior to the Dutch, there were many Civilizations that incorporated principles found in the US constitution. Matter of fact, I could take you through the Constitution and US jurisprudence system and show you how they heavily borrowed from the Quran. FYI
