What sucks about all that Luke is that there isn't any silver bullet for this situation. In a nation that's 67% White, with many racists in the criminal justice system, realistically, marching and demanding freedom isn't gonna work on its own. There are no easy or fast solutions. None. Personally, I'd like to move out the USA one day, as I don't see things changing a whole lot here to be honest. We can still improve things though, as we've done historically. While we're here, I think all this can help....

1) We HAVE TO step our education up. While Asians are passing us by economically (often because they value education more then many of us do), too many of us want to slack off in school and not be ambitious enough. The more educated we are, the less chance we'll have to rely on criminal activity to survive and as a result, run into cops more. Even in the hood, there are many educated Blacks who pay mortgages with jobs they got through college, technical school or whatever. If we step our education up and take school more seriously, then more of us will have less run ins with the law. Also, we'll have a BETTER chance of catching up with Whites economically and socially.

2) We have to start respecting our families, children, and neighborhoods more. The better we raise our children and better we treat our family members and people in our community (financially and emotionally), the less likely people in our community will feel hopeless and just live for today. Also, the less often crooked cops can find an opportunity to fuck us over. People who feel hopeless don't do much with their lives and many times end up being a problem. We gotta be positive influences for people in our community. If police see so many of us don't respect ourselves and our people, we can't expect outsiders to do it.

3) Keep an eye on the cops and record them at every opportunity if a situation looks suspicious. Not saying all cops are bad but way too many are. Pressure politicians and prosecutors when cops act wrong (something I think we're doing well)

4) Start our own voluntary neighborhood watch programs, so we can police ourselves better and rely less on crooked cops who know how to make life difficult for so many of us. If that's impossible, then let's at least look out for our neighbors to the point they won't even need to call cops, let's be our own guardians. Let's protect our women and elderly more. If you're gonna hustle, don't make a spot so hot and obvious that the community turns against itself. Freddie Gray was killed by cops but it was the neighborhood calling the cops so often that made the spot hot. Time to be less obvious about things.

There's more but I don't have the energy to write more right now. Just a few things in my mind that I think can help.

Good stuff king. I agree with what you wrote.

I figured alot of us on here speak on race so I just wanted to hear some answers that go beyond someone saying "pull your pants up" or looking for ways to blame us and instead think of methods beyond a soundbite that could honestly do some good and put up evidence of journalistic articles or laws they know of that blacks can see need to be done away with.

Marches could focus on:

Focus 1-Each march should have a focus point: For example: #1 “We are marching for this person who was killed. Our focus point for the next 6 months is to call these following telephone numbers and give the public the home addresses of these people and call every day and give this message. "We want you out of your job." (Give the house numbers of the mayor, police chief, etcetera)”

Focus 2- example at next march: “We are focusing on employment. At this march we have 10 people who will look over your resume. E-mail them no later than tomorrow with your qualifications and contact information.” These 10 people will take the top 10 candidates (employed or unemployed) from the march and will have agents find them a job. If any of the candidates happen to be applying for a government osition then they will have the support of the hundreds of marchers that guarantee their signatures of endorsing the candidate. If the candidate receives a job over $65,000 then 3% of that check is to go to the agent that found them that job for one year.

Focus 3-Hold up a list of 5 demands (Example: hire at least 2 black police officers in a particular unit inside of a 6 month period if they are qualified, 2 hire a city council member recommended by the protesters, 3 at least worth trying to write a letter for a bid for a factory to return to the area stating what the people of the community have agreed to work for, 4 have focused patrolling of a neighborhood where the police sit in on a neighborhood by a group of 5 and stay in that area for a week, 5 have a trade school that is community based and free to the people as long as the person does not miss 2 classes)for a specific candidate that the people in the march vow to support. That candidate is responsible for seeing where 60% of the city’s revenue is going and to meet with the marchers through blog/personal e-mails or meeting and list at least 5 areas of change that are realistic for the voters to back him/her on. So when he goes to present an issue to the city or county he has the people’s signatures literally behind her/him on an issue.

Focus 4- Everyone donate money to buy a franchise or this plot of land: Everyone that donates this amount of money will receive this back in profit in equal relation to the donation. 10% of the donation will be used to employ the workers that are making this happen. It will be the community bank account.

You can see every month exactly how much the franchise brought in, your contribution, the amount of money you received back.

Focus 5- Highlight in each city the march is in: 1st the candidates that need to be removed from city council, government offices and police. 2nd highlight candidates that do a good job

Focus 6-(damn near impossible)- make sure that the jury is at least half of the same race as the accused even in areas where the defendant is in the minority.

Focus 7-Require businesses that build in an area to show what they have provided

-Return to other cities and other marches with a check list updating the successes or lack of successes from each previous marches focus points.

Maybe this shit on here sound like I'm getting folks on "if I were to fix the world.....I would....." said in a 5 year old voice. It's close to it, I admit it: but I was looking for some suggestions cause I'm thinking of joining the city council and would like to actually have some help on stuff to bring to the table that can directly help improve a situation and be able to call out the evidence as to why a situation needs to be addressed.

So basically, do my homework for me.

Nah, but for real, a bunch of times blacks I'm around get on the conversation of what can be done, so that's what this thread is about. Same shit we talk on at a bar or at a family reunion. Just wanted to see responses in writing.
