LOL @ "The Eminem Show" being critically rated higher than "The Marshall Mathers LP" which won more awards, had Bigger 1st week sales, they are neck and neck on total sales also. Actually most Eminem fans consider his 1st two albums his best as well as most hip hop fans. "TES" was a dope album but it's not Classic as most fans feel the production was not on the level of "MMLP". Eminem is one of Hip Hop's biggest Icons for sure but he is not "THE" Icon cause other rap Icons are bigger. Sales have never been a determining factor amongst Hip Hop heads, sorry. Tupac, Biggie, Jay Z and even Dr. Dre himself are Bigger Icons to Hip Hop. Run DMC, LL Cool J, Premo, I can keep going. Eminem made history as far as impact but Icon wise he's far from the Biggest. Also Shady Team, your wrong, the Corny/Shock Rap Eminem has sold the most:
Crazy, Comical Em
SSLP - 4x Platinum
MMLP - 10x Platinum
E - 5x Platinum
Rel - 2x Platinum
Deep Eminem
TES - 10x Platinum
Rec - 4x Platinum
8 Mile sdtk - 4x Platinum
More fans have responded to crazy Em. As far as his singles, "Stan" is probably his most popular song amongst Hip Hop Heads and that did not go "#1". Yes "Lose Yourself" is up there, "Not Afraid and Love the way you lie" are both POP records and are not loved by many true rap fans as they feel Em went way commercial on those. More Hip Hop fans have responded to Crazy Em. Yes I agree that the EP isn't great but it's way more lyrical than "Recovery" which was the most POP sounding Em album of his career. Also your wrong, Eminem isn't even a Top 20 Selling artist in history. There have been tons of artist that have sold WAY more Worldwide than Eminem, TONS. Barry White has sold more records than Eminem, Backstreet Boys (The boy band he likes to diss) has sold more records than him, lol:
