Elementary school teacher tells kids there's no Santa Claus

Pops always said if there was a such thing as a Santa then I was looking at him (shrug) it became clear at a young age.

He also told me if I ever hear anyone coming down the chimney to go in his closet and grab his saw'd off.

That's exactly how it was put to me at age 7 when I came home from school tellin my mama that some cookies I was given by the teacher was for Santa Claus.

Plus, In the spiritual obedience we were under... christmas, easter, halloween, thanksgiving, birthday celebrations, etc.. weren't relevant nor conducive to anything regarding us as a people.

I mean shit's too real out here for kids to be living in a fantasy world. If they live here caught up with things that aren't here, there's a good chance they won't be here for long.

Whatever happen to being a child? Don't get me wrong there are some things that you need to be real about (sex, death, school, future goals etc.). I don't see how a 7 or 8 year old thinking there is a santa claus hurts them. Eventually there will come a time where they will have to know the truth if not already told by their peers but I don't see the big deal.
