3 popes have been from Africa.

Pope Victor I was from the Roman province in Africa, so its possible he was white.

Pope Miltiades was known to be a Berber, so who knows. Berbers can vary wildly in skin color, from blonde haired to blue black. Most are not black, however.

Pope Gelasius I....I can't find anything on this dude really, that's the problem, there's so little info on ancient popes

People really didn't care about race back then, so its not like they were keeping a tally. And of course, white artists painted them as white because they were painting centuries after their deaths.

As for Saints, well there's plenty of confirmed black saints. Saint Moses the Black is my favorite. (seriously, nigga was gangsta)

Then there's St. Augustine.....

The papacy of St. Victor I, the 13th pope, is noted for a lull in the Roman persecution of the Church and a controversy over the celebration of Easter.

Nobody's denying that there were blacks in ancient Egypt.

But only a fool would believe that everybody there was black or that all the pharaohs were black.

When you look at how the Egyptians depicted people, you see that they make their southern neighbors much much darker than themselves.

If anything, the Egyptians were red.

Loool Mary Lefkowitz your troll game is wack.

Just so we can get this out of the way now....most reputable experts believe that the Egyptians had no concept of "race" and Ancient Egypt was essentially multi-racial with skin color ranging from tan to blue black.

So Egypt wasn't 100% black, but there were plenty of black pharaohs holdin it down and those old Hollywood movies with pasty white blonde hair blue eyed Egyptians are still bullshit.

Black people are 100% black. African people have always been multiple different shades.

I disagree. Egypt was 100 percent black. The world was 100 percent black until the white/light skinned races came along.

100% really people.

are we gonna make wild statements again?

You know what I meant. Youre just trying to be a smart ass.

every egyptian regardless of their skin tone is african.

why do we have to make a distinction between blacks, berbers, bedouin, arabs etc?

Because there is a difference. There are those who are indigenous to that land mass called Africa, and those who are not. To migrate to another land and settle there doesn't make you original to that land. Just because you have seeds on the land it doesn't make them African either. Malcolm X said it best, you can put kittens in the oven but that doesn't make them biscuits.

Abraham is father is the Arabs right?
Well, before Abraham had Ishmael, he visited Egypt in the 11th dynasty (where he got his 2nd wife)

So my question to those that claim Kemet (Egypt) was non African or Arab/White is who do you think populated the so-called Mid-East before Ishmael was born?

chew on that for a minute whiteboys...

Wait.....this is stil being debated here? Shocking.
I don't understand why many white folks who have no ties to Egypt become offended when it is shown to them that the indigenous people of Egypt were "Black."
Is it credit they seek? Recognition? Does everything have to be their to claim?
