Edddie helped out alot of black actors/actresses and comedians in his movies

Hollywoood was not letting them eat

Plus when you an actor/star you owe other stars/directors/producers/movie companies favors

You take jobs you might not want because you want a favor later down the line

He was always a better character than his costars IMO

I think Chris Tucker and Martin Lawrence are the evolution of Eddies style

Eddie signed a studio contract (I am not sure which company it was) for 100's of millions. Eddie was going to eat whether the movies made money or not. So, what we got is, hit or miss stuff in an effort to fulfill his contractual obligations. With that said, Eddie has acting, Producing, and writing credits on many of his movies. So, whether you like his work on a whole really doesn't matter. Eddie does whatever the hell he wants to do in Hollywood. If, you threw out all of Eddie's accomplishments and only left us with giving Chris Rock his break, and "Coming to America" he would still be top notch imo.

Nah, loan denied. He put work in then got to a point he didnt need to make 1 more good movie bc his spot in history was and is solidified

This is like saying Duncan had a bad career trajectory

Best thing Eddie did was actually STOP making his traditional comedies, bc they were doing more harm than good. And Shrek and Dr Doolittle = $$$$

He said that Cosby told him he needed to go a different path in his career and be more family oriented because the new comedians will be following in his footsteps and become clones

And damn if he wasn't right

Eddie is chilling and he made more money than ever off the shrek franchise alone

We ain't talkin bout money. ..we talkin quality ....the craft of the work.....the catalog...Eddie is the GOAT but the second half of his work are mostly misses

I liked Norbit

I think Rasputia was a lil over the top

And a bad stereotype but she was a good villain and he made u forget that it was Eddie underneath it all
