never saw the ppv, just the chamber match. the match itself wasn't that bad but I swear vince did his best to ruin it. sabu being replaced with hardcore holly *unacceptable unless sabu was injured*

fan favorites cm punk and RVD being one of the first participants eliminated. and ultimately having bobby lashley going over cm punk one year before he left the company

having punk eliminate the champion big show first would've been dope af. show was down with it too and I believe punk was scheduled win but Vince wasn't having it. no wonder why Paul Heyman left after this PPV

Sabu wasn't injured, I think he was just replaced for storyline heat. Which was a dumb ass thing to do but it fit the narrative that Vince was on.

The original idea for the chamber would have been cool but I think the event still would have been shit.

I watched it, i just don't remember on which medium, but i do have the PPV on DVD

it was a glorified Heat show, with squash matches that lasted waaaay too long. They tried to sugar coat the squash matches by having a stipulation/gimmick attached to them. Still, the chemistry of the participants didn't mix to make most of the matches watchable.

* Opener: Stevie Richards d. Renee Dupree

* Hardys d. MNM

* Balls Mahoney d. Matt Striker (Striker Rules Match, don't remember what the hell it was, but I think Striker wanted to see if Balls could beat him without using a chair)

* Elijah Burke & Sylvester Terkay d. FBI (FBI got zero offense in this match, complete squash)

* Daivari d. Tommy Dreamer (Great Khali interfered)

* Kevin Thorn & Ariel d. Mike Knox & Kelly Kelly (only on the show so Kelly can break away from Knox)

* Extreme Elimination Chamber: Lashley d. Big Show, Test, RVD, Hardcore Holly, and CM Punk

As you can see, this show had no flow, consistency, heat, nothing. It was a glorified house show. The crowd was dead the entire show, until the main event, and even then, they just watched until stuff started getting broken.

I think what made it worse was the politics involved, when the news broke of the differences between Heyman and Vince. It was a overall boring show, that dragged. They only had 1.5 hours worth of wrestling on the show, and managed to fit another hour of promos and advertising in, and it still ended about 15-25 minutes too early; people forget about that. That's why refunds were offered to the paying crowd and the PPV buyers after the event.

Yes. It was truly pathetic show and one thing you forgot @‌Mally_G is that Sabu was ADVERTISED (he is on the DVD cover [i have the show on DVD as well] and his name still appears on the back match listing.

Normally once a guy is taken out of the match (for storyline purposes) he is taken off the match listing.

Calling it a house show is putting it light, I've seen better house shows. That roster was way too thin to pull off an elimination chamber match on that card. The show could have been salvaged if they had singles matches featuring a mixture of those guys.

The chamber match itself had some good heat but then all the guys the fans cared about were taken out first. The booking of Lashley here is similar to what I've heard many say Goldberg should have had at the Summerslam 2003 elimination chamber, except it was predictable as fuck.

That Sabu shit is a selling point for the DVD. Those not in the know will expect to see Sabu in the match, then get the word during the show that Sabu was "taken out", adding to Vince's storyline purposes. They have to recoup something from that event, even if it's deceptive advertising.

And I wouldn't compare the 03 chamber to the ECW chamber because Lashley got to wrestle during the match. The 03 chamber, HHH took one superkick and laid in his pod the entire match, he did absolutely nothing, only to wake up and cheat for the victory. I at least enjoyed the ECW chamber to an extent, and respect the outcome because I was a Lashley fan, and saw something special in him if he stayed the pro wrestling course. I hate HHH because he's always doing some slick shit to stay on top.

The card was complete ass from top to bottom and CM Punk getting eliminated was garbage, considering how they built him up previously.

I think hhh was legit injured, that's why he wore longer trunks, think he had a groin injury, but still, too predictable

VKM sat on the property of ECW, but the fans were still yearning for it with chants during WWE events and too much chatter on the net about missing ECW. So the WWE made their version of ECW, hoping that the originals who were working the independents would sign on for 5k a month, some got a little more.

The heart and soul of ECW weren't even signed. That shit was bound to fail. Characters like New Jack laughed at everyone who signed because he knew they were going to get fucked over. Raven and Shane Douglas were in TNA. Rhino had already been released by the company during/after the Invasion angle for some stupid shit (public display of anger (destroyed some plants and smashed a flower pot) when his wife arrived to a PPV event without his kids); and was signed to TNA. The E wanted Rhino bad because he had the original ECW and TV belts. They wanted to use them without paying for a replica, which ended up happening anyway. Rhino brought both belts to a TNA iMPACT taping and burned them outside during a promo stating that Vince makes money off the blood, sweat, and tears of the ECW originals, then declaring ECW dead.


WWECW (what many called it) went on for about 2 years, and the only star it created for the mainstream platform was CM Punk, but most fans already knew about him before he even signed a WWE contract. Any reincarnation of WCW was never in the cards.

WWECW was fun for awhile. They last few months were terrible though, just like SD they got constantly raised for the talent they built.

Kofi, Punk, Sheamus, Evan Bourne and Swagger all started in WWECW, John Morrison got his first main event push there, so did Lashley. They produced some decent guys but the E always misused them.

When WWE finally uploads that stuff to the network watch it. It was dope for awhile. Even the unlikely champions like Morrison and Chavo were good in their roles.
