This whole battle is a moot point.

Joe Budden doesn't really have anything to lose and he's too underground to make a dent in Drake's career.

At least Meek was on the same level so there was something at stake.

same level as in how? budden far and away been a more consistent artist than meek and been doing it longer

pump it up was a bigger song than anything meek ever dropped commercially....budden was nominated for a grammy...a diss against meek was nominated for a grammy

When Meek and Drake were beefing they both had songs on the radio and videos on rotation (I guess, I don't watch music videos but I remember seeing the Church video on TV a while back)

Joe Budden hasn't had a song on the radio or a video in rotation in over 10 years.

Ask a 13 year old who Joe Budden is, then ask that same 13 year old who Drake is.

And yeah, when I was 13 years old KRS One and MC Shan were going at it as well as LL Cool J vs Kool Moe Dee and truthfully, I knew who Kool Moe Dee was but besides their cameo in Beat Street I couldn't name any songs by The Treacherous Three but I was a LL Cool J stan. The way I saw it, Kool Moe Dee was some old washed up rapper and LL Cool J was the face of Hip Hop. Same difference.

who give a fuck what a 13 year old have to say bout music

Thats what wins battles. When I was 13 you couldn't tell me MC Shan was better than KRS or that Kool Moe Dee was better than LL Cool J. Because I was 13 and didn't know anything.

Teenagers are very impressionable. Its been said that the average age of a music consumer is 17.

If Joe Budden wants to take out Drake, he doesn't need to target my generation, he has to target teenagers.

it was the hardest budden podcast to listen to so far...not a drake fan, and hearing him basically like a mom telling their kid "I love you, and I'm not mad but I'm disappointed in you"

plus having him overate drakes impact made me like:

At the end of the day it's two dudes who at times were nice on the mic (Budden the better) yet have not reached their full potential in the eyes of real rap heads. Difference is Drake at the forfront at the moment. Which to the casual listener makes it look like Joe is using Drake as a stepping stone.

I can give a damn about the politics, I just want a good ass real battle on wax for once. Sadly it probably won't happen. The way people are now with Social Media and blind allegiance to whoever they fuck with, genuine rap battles against mainstream rappers are done with.

too much social media now a days

Buddens reaching like always. Drake reference to "pump, pump it up" is from the dancehall part of Club Nouveau Lean On Me remix where they are singing "we be jammin" and other carribean outcalls over the "pump it up, pump it up homeboy just like that" sample on top of steelpan instruments in ode to Canada west islanders

oh shit lmao

Straight pathetic. Yall dont know WHAT Budden could say.

We in a time where Michael Jordan is a punchline...MICHAEL JORDAN!

So if there's 1 thing "the internet " might, just might love more than Drake---as unimaginable as that may seem to be possible- -- its a good ol fashion hashtag ready viral pile on roast. Someone, anyone's body to put a Jordan cry face on

If Budden says the right thing it could absolutely happen

tru

Drake always had a high ceiling. Wayne and everybody with eyeballs and ears saw this coming early.

To wayne, there’s a whole world moving out there that he hasn’t seen for so long. He was just like, he told me something I never thought I’d hear him say, which was, ‘You’re the ultimate artist. You’re better than me. You don’t have the tattoos, you don’t cause any trouble. People like you.’ He was like, basically, ‘Look at me and look at you.’ He was like, ‘Man, listen. You know what I think you’re about to do? You’re about to do 2 million. You’re about to do two million the first week. Whatever, man, whatever you do, do not get no tattoos never in your life. They gonna think you got it because you came around me.’ He said the same thing to me [during the Rikers visit]: ‘Don’t change yourself, please. You got it. I’ve never met a young dude that has it figured out, but you got it. Don’t mess it up. Just be you. Sing! Rap! Be you. Don’t stop smiling.’ That’s what he said.

That's the exact reason y Drake seems to b untouchable cuz he ain't hip hop....a rapper like meek can expose Drake all day & it won't matter cuz Drake is hip pop..... drakes fanbase don't give a fuk bout hip hop that's y they give Drake a pass 4 bein milli vanilli.....a rapper will not stop Drake just rappin cuz he's not a rapper himself all u can do is beat drakes ass & take his ovo chain
