This whole battle is a moot point.

Joe Budden doesn't really have anything to lose and he's too underground to make a dent in Drake's career.

At least Meek was on the same level so there was something at stake.

same level as in how? budden far and away been a more consistent artist than meek and been doing it longer

pump it up was a bigger song than anything meek ever dropped commercially....budden was nominated for a grammy...a diss against meek was nominated for a grammy

When Meek and Drake were beefing they both had songs on the radio and videos on rotation (I guess, I don't watch music videos but I remember seeing the Church video on TV a while back)

Joe Budden hasn't had a song on the radio or a video in rotation in over 10 years.

Ask a 13 year old who Joe Budden is, then ask that same 13 year old who Drake is.

And yeah, when I was 13 years old KRS One and MC Shan were going at it as well as LL Cool J vs Kool Moe Dee and truthfully, I knew who Kool Moe Dee was but besides their cameo in Beat Street I couldn't name any songs by The Treacherous Three but I was a LL Cool J stan. The way I saw it, Kool Moe Dee was some old washed up rapper and LL Cool J was the face of Hip Hop. Same difference.

i can't believe we have 5 pages of "drake can't be taken down" or "the memes won't make him win" or "meek was more relevant than budden and he couldnt do anything" or "countries and prime minsters and niggas on Mars all made drake win"

man fuck all that other bullshit y'all talking

i dont care what some white girl in iowa thinks about who won a battle

and im not saying drake's career should be ended or can be ended

all im saying is

id like to hear them both put a diss track out against each other, which i highly doubt will happen anyway

thats all i want

the memes and shit is for everyone else

all i wanna hear is these dudes go at it, which again, i highly doubt

all this shit about why bother and all that so and so can't win, f all that

that is for mainstream fags

we are here to listen to the music, or i am

and i'd like to see this shit go down

joe budden had 2 singles last year, broke and f'em all, in 2013 he has NBA, in 2012 had she dont' put it down

I'm not asking who is more popular between drake and budden.....I was asking how meek is on the same level as budden when budden has had more success than meek in his career....budden also has one of the more popular hip hop podcasts out right now

Hate to say it but the internets will not let Joe win

And Joe knows this. He's talked about it on more than one occasion. If we're talking strictly putting words together, we know who's better...but that's not what we're talking.

The Drake Mounted Police Force ain't gon' allow Budden to get that W.

Straight pathetic. Yall dont know WHAT Budden could say.

We in a time where Michael Jordan is a punchline...MICHAEL JORDAN!

So if there's 1 thing "the internet " might, just might love more than Drake---as unimaginable as that may seem to be possible- -- its a good ol fashion hashtag ready viral pile on roast. Someone, anyone's body to put a Jordan cry face on

If Budden says the right thing it could absolutely happen

you guys have not heard of david and goliath or buster douglas and mike tyson

and joe vs. drake is not nearly as insurmountable as those, joe can easily defeat drake in a battle

yall the type niggas then when the good basketball team came to play your high school you just said "oh well we can't win why even go to the game?"

what kinda shit yall on?

you telling a man not to battle another man because of what some white girls say on memes on twitter?

yall keep saying what happened to hip hop? look in the mirror, wtf happened to yall niggas?

and i dont give a fuck what meme's said, meek lost the battle cause his diss was wack. if he came with ether or no vaseline, you think he still woulda lost? and fuck what the internets said....im saying among hip-hop heads, you think if he dropped no vaseline he woulda lost? meek turned to twitter fingers and lost that way.

yall all sound like some bitches. sounding like rocky wife in rocky 4 against drago.

Buddens reaching like always. Drake reference to "pump, pump it up" is from the dancehall part of Club Nouveau Lean On Me remix where they are singing "we be jammin" and other carribean outcalls over the "pump it up, pump it up homeboy just like that" sample on top of steelpan instruments in ode to Canada west islanders

The paradox or irony rather is most of the people who want Drake to lose cuz he's a soft corny nigga, don't listen to Joe Budden for basically or similarly for the same reason.

Meanwhile alot of Joe Budden fans are Drake fans also and vice versa.

Niggas are basically rolling with whoever they dislike LESS.

who give a fuck what a 13 year old have to say bout music

At the end of the day it's two dudes who at times were nice on the mic (Budden the better) yet have not reached their full potential in the eyes of real rap heads. Difference is Drake at the forfront at the moment. Which to the casual listener makes it look like Joe is using Drake as a stepping stone.

I can give a damn about the politics, I just want a good ass real battle on wax for once. Sadly it probably won't happen. The way people are now with Social Media and blind allegiance to whoever they fuck with, genuine rap battles against mainstream rappers are done with.

Budden fans on suicide watch. Dont get me wrong, its not cause of drake. Those are just the type of people that listen to budden.

This shit is hilarious. I feel the same way about the old bullied depressed Z-Ro. Both these niggas made great music and I could've had a day when I felt like I won the lottery then put they shit on and contemplate checking into a psych ward.
