We want to see your credentials "Dr. Umar"......

Dr. Cornell West has been calling Obama out since day one......

Word? Seriously? You doing this now?

Umar didn't mention anything about what one individual has or has not done in regards to taking Obama to task. What Umar did mention was Blacks as a voting\community\collective taking Obama to task for his lack action on the part of Blacks in America.

So, instead of attempting distract add something of substance to the discussion.

This is @bambu 's job whenever an intellectually constructive discussion is being had

Yes now....

No he did not name names....

However, he stated that blacks failed to hold Obama accountable, which is not true.....

Many of us like Dr. West were blacklisted for doing so.....

This dude is an opportunist......

Now that the nation is aware of the failings of the executive branch he wants to jump in and call for a boycott of the president.....

& he is ignorant of the differences between a democracy & a republic......

republic: a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.

democracy: a government by the people; especially : rule of the majority b : a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections

Parrot his bullshit if you want to......

& @xxCivicxx

Shouldn't you be cooking up some stupid ass faggot conspiracy????

It was solid, but not super impressive. You could tell envy and char had realized that something seems to be missing with these brothas coming on the show preaching, but reality doesnt seem to fully lineup with what theyre saying.

There is always something to learn from umar, tariq nasheed, and boyce watkins. Sometimes they miss points, and exaggerate a lot more than they need to. Boyce less.

I think michael eric dyson articulates the reality of black issues in america from both sides much better than the previous 3.

I feel like dr umar out of all of them seems to hype up the paranoia of white racist america more than what reality truly reflects that in this country in this day and age. I think focusing to much on building black paranoia of white racist america is not a good thing. Much better shit to focus on that we can do for ourselves to elevate ourselves. I could name 10 things off top with ease, that these brothas never bring up. Boyce does sometimes. Like getting into different predominately white male fields of work.

This is because you don't want to empower black people, you(AND Boyce Watkins, who I think is a pseudo-intellectual) want to assimilate into white culture

You have nothing to add to this discussion. Dr. Umar Johnson lays out the facts and that scares you so just fall back and watch /shrug

Please name those 10 things "off the top with ease" that AREN'T affected by white supremacy

I want to see the brother sit down with someone like Roland Martin for a stronger conversation because this felt like too big of a topic for ctg and envy ......plus envy comes off as an agent as he kept trying to pacify the realness that was being said by trying to turn it into a feel good moment ...... still good look on getting the brother Umar on to drop some truths

Yeah sure. I'll list them. I assume youre gonna say that racism prevents all this, and we i guess should just be victims forever, but sure, i'll play your game.

1) More "OG's" need to be mentoring more young black man to get a college education, graduate high school with good grades, and get into traditionally non black careers. If you dont understand how a system works, you cannot manipulate, or change it for the benefit of your people.

2) Encourage more conservative sexual activity among young black men and women. We are having too many children out of wed lock, without the financial ability to properly take care of our children, and it is a part of many problems we face in america. It is too easy to buy condoms, get on birth control, or even buy a fucking plan b pill.

3) We can march and protest to change police interactions within the community, but its best if we ourselves become the people policing, and policing with the best of intentions. Not policing to fall victim to the bias the predominately affects young black men in america.

4) More black multimillionaires need to be sending better, and clearer message to our youth. Right now, you can tune into one of hundreds of black entertainers opinions on the social issues we face in this country, and you might as well be talking to a trash can. These black idols are looked up to by young brothas and sistas in america, and you have to be diligent in how you address them, if you are actually concerned about change in the community.

5) Black on Black crime has to be addressed, and it has to be addressed by a movement as powerful and loud as BLM. I recognize that black people getting killed by officers is not the same in some ways, but when your movement (BLM) constantly crosses the lines of blending these two, confusing the majority of the populace at hand, you end up working backwards.

If you are driving on a legit license, not speeding, with legit insurance and registration, complying with officers, and being transparent. You are not likely to just get randomly shot in the head. Has it happened. Yeah, and people have also driven off of cliffs. We deal with those situations as they come. I say that to say this.

I can do everything right in life. Walk down Chief Keefs O block, and get robbed or murdered just cause a niggas ribs is touchin, or ridiculous mistaken identity by someone high as fuck off their 5th blunt for the day.

6) Focus on racism when there is evidence of racism. If you just assume racism all the time, you become the boy who cried wolf, and people will pay less attention to you. Our default as a country cannot be to ignore logic, laws, and rational for our feelings.

The very so called enemy (white people) that some black people speak of, are the same people using this tactic. THEYRE IRRATIONALLY FEARFUL OF US BASED ON THEIR EMOTIONS. NOT LOGIC. You cannot use the tactics of your "enemy" to somehow magically find yourself getting ahead in that society.

7) Start branching out black owned businesses from just urban attire. You know why there arent a bunch of asian urban attire stores, even though they love black urban american culture, BECAUSE THERE IS NO FUCKING MONEY IN IT. You see what styles p did. He gave back to the people, and got a great business going with juicing. He said, i see white people on this juice shit, and its good for my people, so lemme get one poppin on the block.

We need to own more fast food franchises that stuff fat americans filled with what they love. We need to open more laundromats, liquor stores, grocery stores, etc.. You need to look at the fundamental needs of your average american, and seek to open businesses related to that. No one needs jordans. FUCK JORDANS.

8) In relation to the above, if you cannot get the business loan, then we need to be pooling together with each other to get to a level where we can, or just do it ourselves without a bank loan. Its not a myth that foreigners seem to have more rights and access to financial aid of the business type than we do, but its not like black people still dont get business loans.

We just work with what we have, and over time it will change. Over time if you dont just give up, and put your hands out waiting for some white man to come save you like white jesus, people will start looking at black people, and black culture as the money culture. Not the culture to make money off of, but the culture that MAKES THE MONEY.

9) Our musical interest have to shift. We can tell ghetto stories, but we can no longer continue to sell sex, drugs, money, violence, and debauchery to the kids, and to the world.

We came from chuck berry, little richard, sammy davis, jimi hendrix, marvin gaye, the temptations, dianna ross, and all the HOUSE music legends that followed the disco era. To well what we have now, starting with NWA.

Music influences young people all over the world daily, and we have to make sure that our youth are hearing a better message than what we're selling them now. Its your right to express yourself artistically how you want, but if you think these little young niggas in chicago, oakland, bmore, nyc, flint, miami aint turning up to your music in a negative way, and being influenced to do things based on this music. Then well youre delusional .

Thats 9. Take 1 from my previous post, and make 10. Dont challenge me like i dont know anything. Now whats your retort, sucka?

I agree. Nothing but redundant fluff. Umar addressed all of these things. From tackling the issue of Blackmen in special education to Rich Blacks sponsoring HBCU's. He also mentioned Blacks starting our banks. And I am being extremely brief.

It's quite obvious folks are commenting without having watched the video in its entirety.

What is also obvious is Blacks are refusing to open, and honestly address White Supremacy and its, past, present and future affects on Black Americans.

umar is right... some people won't like umar because he's not following in the tradition of people like DUBOISE, MLK, JESSE JACKSON ETC ETC ETC he is following closer to the tradition of marcus garvey, Malcolm x , black panthers etc etc etc

if you are trying to be one of these "in the system" niggas what umar is saying won't really appeal to you

Its easy to just disagree, and have nothing to say besides hiding behind umar. Youre sitting here fronting like i hate umar johnson. lol. Did you even read my initial post. While i didnt think the entire interview was fire. I said there is ALWAYS something to learn from umar. If there wasnt, i wouldnt have watched all 4 hidden colors. I wouldnt have watched all his breakfast club interviews, and spent entire weekends watching other random interviews, and lectures of his on youtube. Literal weekends of watching boyce, umar, etc..

But good job trying to paint me as the not good enough black because i have a difference of opinion, while you offer nothing but an opinion wrapped in Umars nuts, rather than actually have anything of any substance to say back yourself.

Its your right to express yourself artistically how you want, but if you think these little young niggas in chicago, oakland, bmore, nyc, flint, miami aint turning up to your music in a negative way, and being influenced to do things based on this music. Then well youre delusional .

Fluff just like your first post

Dr Umar spoke on literally all of this, and he speaks on all of this on a daily basis.

Your entire post was redundant

Like I said before, you're objecting because you want to assimilate and the realness of Umar Johnson scares you

And yes, pretty much everything you stated is affected by white supremacy

You also played the black on black crime card smh.

You should just fall back like I said before. You're out of your element

This is hilarious, you came in here passive-aggressively insulting Umar Johnson and now you're trying to play the victim

Please just stick to lurking

LMAO. I said this

There is always something to learn from umar, tariq nasheed, and boyce watkins. Sometimes they miss points, and exaggerate a lot more than they need to. Boyce less.

I think michael eric dyson articulates the reality of black issues in america from both sides much better than the previous 3.

With a criticism on what i feel is paranoia of white supremacy in america, which is just 1 POINT of my post, and a couple of yall are taking it as an affront to dr umar johnson, and the brothas that preach what he similarly preaches.

ASTOUNDING. Astounding you can be so disingenuous when the facts are literally right in front of you, and everyone else to read from. Its just astounding to me, considering how much time i dedicate to listening to these brothas, and im sitting here being lampooned by my own people because of a slight difference of opinion. The classic. ha

He did. But it was honest, respectful and only in the context of his politics.

Let's not get caught up in Umar's opinion of Obama's politics. The crux of the Umar's content was White Supremacy and it's systematic destruction of Blacks in America.

I get ya'll african americans frustration with Barry O but ( i believe its more complex than people labelling him a coon etc) you gatta pick ?

is he all powerful, willingfully complicit and not good.

or

is he a powerless puppet who might be sincere but cant do nothing.

then we can judge him on either merit.

umar is right... some people won't like umar because he's not following in the tradition of people like DUBOISE, MLK, JESSE JACKSON ETC ETC ETC he is following closer to the tradition of marcus garvey, Malcolm x , black panthers etc etc etc

if you are trying to be one of these "in the system" niggas what umar is saying won't really appeal to you

My issues are with his credentials......

He does spit some good shit....

However, it is replete with inaccuracies......
