Anyone think he can go platinum the 1st week. This will prolly be the 1st album I bought in 15 years

Nah

That era is over

Kendrick and J. Cole did it if I'm not mistaken

No they didnt

Only artist puttin up 1st week numbers like that is probably Taylor Swift

Rap fans aint loyal

On Detox, Dre said the finished product just wasn't good enough to be released. He didn't like it, but feels the vibe for this Compton album is right.

Really disaponted there is no 50 Cent on the album

Musically we all know what a legend 50 is made nothing but great albums and classic albums, but is a really cool dude outside of music too

He should have been on the album. I like Kendrick but he has never made an album as good as Guess Who's Back, Get Rich Or Die Tryin or The Massacre. Nor has he sold anywhere near close to the amoiunt of records 50 Cent has sold nor had the amount of hits

50 should have been on the album before Kendrick

...50 and Dre haven't been vibing for a minute. Dre probably never considered puttin' 50 on the album... 50 went against Dre and Iovine's wishes with that SMS audio trash and they were heated...50 JaRule'd himself once again...

Yeah i never knew about that

Not looking forward to Kendrick on this his last album was total garbage. GKMC was a good album but his last album was poor

50 u guranteed classic features from, classic albums

To Pimp A Butterfly wasn't made for Pakis baby. Only for blacks and Palestinians.

(CNN)It may be time to let go of the idea of a "Detox" album from Dr. Dre.

But that doesn't mean there won't be more music coming from the rapper/producer.

Dr. Dre announced Saturday that he will be releasing his first album since 1999's "2001." "Compton: A Soundtrack" will be released on iTunes and Apple Music on Friday.

The rapper revealed on the Beats 1 radio show that the new project was inspired by the upcoming film "Straight Outta Compton," a biopic that documents the rise of his group N.W.A.

"I was leaving the set, coming to the studio, and I felt myself just being so inspired by the movie that I started recording an album," he said. "And I kept it under wraps. And the album is finished."

The new album will include collaborations with artists including Kendrick Lamar, Jill Scott, Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube.

As for that long-awaited "Detox" project that seemed to be the subject of release rumors every few years, Dre had an explanation for why it's never hit stores.

"The reason 'Detox' didn't come out was because I didn't like it," he said. "I don't think I did a good enough job, and I couldn't do that to my fans, and I couldn't do that to myself, to be perfectly honest with you. I just wasn't feeling it."

you know what.....thats a good enough explanation for me. I can respect not wantin to put out trash and ruin your legacy just for the sake of putting something out.

damn, first MC Ren doesn't even get mentioned during any of the movie's promo, now he's not even featured on the soundtrack?
